Screw You! I am Outta Here G.O.P. [Reader Post]

To whomever this may concern

It’s been a relationship that has been on the skids since 2010. I tried to make it work, but after I saw that I was the only one making any concessions in our waning relationship I realized that you no longer considered our relationship worth saving. Instead of wasting each other’s time let me just pack up my vote and get the hell out of here. Goodbye Republican Party. It was fun while it lasted.

Mike Henkins

Whew! That felt good! I have been wanting to write that letter for a while now. I can’t believe I waited this long! I should have done it right after the election in November 2010. I knew then that it was over then but I was hoping things would change, but it didn’t. The Republican Party has done nothing but insult me and my Tea Party friends. I mean look! These bastards are going after Allen West now! Allen freakin’ West man! You know what really jumps my tracks? These same Sons of Bushs are the first ones to cry about the need for “party unity”. Un-flippin-real!

I will tell you what’s going to happen. If Romney gets the nomination they are going to come to us at first with hat in hand asking for our time and money to “help defeat Obama.” When we roll our eyes and slam the door in their faces, they will tell us they don’t need us anyway, their new best buds, the Independents, will help out. After they realize that the precious Independent voter isn’t going to waste their time helping out, they will be back again.

I agree, if Romney gets it I will no longer be a Republican or identify myself as such. Do you think there is a single Republican official who can answer the question whether zer0 was ever a citizen of Indonesia? These cowards didn’t even have the guts to pursue that! I’ll tolerate Gingrich or Santorum, if it’s Romney I’m out.

Hear ye, hear ye! The Republican Party does not adequately represent me! They talk a lot and then give the same warmed over muck that got us into financial collapse in the first place; ANOTHER debt ceiling aborted!? Something _serious_ needs to be done to change course, now.

I would rather we have our own evil, than the dim’s evil.

But that's how we ended up with McCain, which got us Obama anyway. Admittedly, Juan picked Palin as a running mate as a consolation prize to the base but it still wasn't enough and the GOP elite didn't get a clue and they didn't get a clue from the Tea Party movement and the 2010 elections either. The fact is, the GOP may be going the way of the Whig party because the entrenched urban leadership refuses to listen to the needs and desires of the grassroot base. I've never not been a Republican, but I'm re-registering with the Constitution Party after this primary. I no longer believe that the Republican Party is the natural home of conservatives. If Obama is re-elected and wrecks the country, it's unlikely that the dems will be a major influence in the rebuilding. Progressivism (aka socialism) will suffer a major and hopefully fatal political wounding. If the GOP nominates Romney and he wrecks the country because he refuses to make a hard right turn but tries to shore up the status quo with "moderation" then the GOP and conservatism will get blamed even though the Romney policies ARE NOT consertive and the socialists will demand more socialism as the cure, sliding us straight into a fascist command economy in the name of fairness. Never forget that it was Nixon that instituted wage and price controls. I truly believe Romney would do something equally stupid trying to please the yammering liberals and their media henchmen. His core principle is climbing to the top of the power hierarchy, liberty and freedom isn't even in his top ten. Apparently a large segment of the American population is unable to learn vicariously from the various socialist failures around the world and are determined to have their own American gulag.

After serving on Capitol Hill in the 80’s and watching the GOP from the inside...I bailed on the party quite a while ago. They stand for little, believe me. Great marketers, I’ll give them that. But possessors of principles...not many.

Give up on thinking the people can “take over” the GOP...it will NEVER happen.

The last thing I was asked by the caller from the RNC was “are you still a Republican?”. I said I still vote Republican. I should have asked if I have a choice.

Agreed. The author is a little late on the up take. He’s right, of course. However, if we throw our votes away to some third party at this most important election in our lifetimes then it may be our last election in this once great country. It’s a GOP vote or die.

Same here, Mt Mary. I told Steele that the donations were drying up until they sponsored conservatives, but would donate to individual candidates. I continued to get the emails. After Priebus came and requested donations, I told him the same. I have not received any further emails. I continue to donate to individuals. I told the RNC that I did not want one dime going to re-elect a RINO, and I was of the opinion that term limits would serve our country best with new blood coming in and a wider variety of citizens having a chance to serve their country. We should not be allowing a “reigning class” to develop, but to let the citizenry have the power to have more say. Not one more email since then. I presume that they did not like my ideas.

At least not without a bi-monthly welfare check.

The new voter approved state constitutional requirement for compactness and the political geography of Florida are West’s greatest adversaries. With the new law restricting gerrymandering, there are simply not enough Republicans available in West’s immediate neighborhood to create a winnable district for him. This was widely reported in the press when the new requirement was adopted in a referendum.

You don't sway the Middle by ejecting your Base.

And no... the GOP appears to be incapable of learning this lesson.

But that's how we ended up with McCain, which got us Obama anyway.

WE didn't end up with McLame because of MY vote in the Primary. I didn't vote for McLame in the Primary. However, knowing that McLame was better than Obozo, I voted for McLame in the General Election, given there were no other options other than Obozo. As I stated, I DO NOT want Romney as the candidate. If the Primary voters select Romney, then I will cast my vote for him, not a third party candidate, which will be essentially a vote for Obozo.

The easiest way to send a message is to return all fundraising letters to the GOP using their pre-paid envelopes, with a polite but firm explanation of why you have no intention of contributing anything to the GOP and will restrict all of your political donations to deserving local candidates. If they get 10 million returned donation letters they may start to take notice.

i don’t blame you my friend. I’m simply pointing out the myopia which the GOP leadership has which, if left unchanged, will result in the eventual collapse of the GOP as a political party. Once the grassroots stop funding the GOP, they won’t be able to staff their luxurious Washington offices. They need to be starved out.

First of all where did you get the notion that I favor Romney over others? Please check all my posts so you will know first hand my preference.

I will repeat my preference in case you do not wish to spend time on reading through my previous posts.

1. Santorum
2. Newt
3. Romney
4. Paul

I will be voting for Santorum in the primaries, unless he has dropped out by the time voting is held in WA state, in which case I will be voting for Newt. I like Rick Santorum better than Newt only because he has lot less baggage for the democrat machine to exploit. Polling confirms this already in that Rick has better numbers against Obama than Newt.

In the final analysis, I will do absolutely nothing to help the Kenyan Socialist’s re-election. I could not live with myself if I did not register my vote against Obama in November.

Dole should have had the political sense, and common sense to realize he HAD no chance.

What world was he living in then?

ANY engaged Republican voter KNEW it was a "well he's earned it" nod to him by the GOP-e...

I'm "lot's of cuss words here" done with the GOP-e....and them attempting to flim-flam and rope a dope me and my family anymore. Dole, McCain, and now Romney.....?????

I'm so done. They don't even have a glue how done....

I know why most ‘conservatives’ avoid them; being patently afraid of “throwing away your vote” scares people back to the vicious cycle of the Evil of Two Lessers.

But one of these days, we’ve got to change who we vote for, and why.

Read their platform. I seriously believe most FR’eepers would agree with 99% or more.
