If Romney wins Tuesday and garners the nomination, should the Tea Party field a candidate?

It's looking more and more like the RINO, country club, elitist attacks on Newt Gingrich are having their intended effect and that Mitt Romney will win in Florida and possibly take the Republican nomination. I don't know about you, but I'm up to **here** with the "lesser of two evils" nonsense and I very much doubt that Mitt will choose Sarah Palin or someone like her as his VP.

What to do, then? I'm open to any and all suggestions.

If Romney is on the GOP ticket ANYWHERE,
then we vote (AND WORK) against Soros’ GOP.

Why not Newt?

He could announce by opening with, “I didn’t leave the Republican Party. The Republican Party left me.”

If the GOProgressives goes down in flames, I won’t shed a tear.

In the debate, Gingrich did mock Romney -
‘he doesn’t know what is in his ad, he doesn’t know what he invests in....’

I heard the same comments 4 years ago when McLame became the GOP candidate in the end “oh I will stay home” blah blah.

Did McCain win?

Really now?

LDS got caught in 1995 baptizing Holocaust victims and Orrin Hatch had to broker an agreement with an outraged Jewish community promising that it would not happen again.

Here it is:

How many delegates are required to assure the nomination and how many delegates will Romney have captured to date assuming he wins Florida?

The key here is to keep Newt in the fight past Florida, regardless. It's essential that the myth be busted that the nomination process is somehow culminated with Florida, especially since they lost half their delegate count this cycle.

After last night's debacle, I would hope that Newt will focus his attention to hammering Obama's failures and offering specific solutions to fix the economy at the voter level. This is extremely important in order to capture the 46% and growing independent vote. Independents are going to vote for whoever communicates a compelling solution to getting America's economic engine working again.

Newt has allowed himself to get stuck to Romney's tar baby of Bain. He needs to emotionally let go of Romney and focus on Obama. Newt needs to speak and act as though he is already the nominee NOW.

cut Romneys taxes for the exact same activity from 15% to 0% to ‘create jobs'

Is this the capital gains tax?

This really hit me. It is exactly how feel. I’ve been awakened like never before and I am furious!

Try to make pissed off conservatives irrelevant with your blah blah. How’d that McCain nomination work out for you?

RE How the hell can he argue that Romney got rich by killing jobs and laying off workers, andby forclosing on our homes (the main theme of Michael Moore's’ Capitalism A Love Story’), and at the same time claim that he(Newt) needs to cut Romneys taxes for the exact same activity from 15% to 0% to ‘create jobs’.
......
Is this the capital gains tax?

Yep, the capital gains tax rate. Newt is arguing against himself on this issue, not surprising.

There is an real issue to be debated here, but that's not what Newt is up to.

True to your 1st point.

Maybe to your second. At any rate, if he is the nominee I am writing in my candidate.

You asked for on-the-ground reports.....

I went to Newt’s Naples rally in Cambier Park. Large bandshell with lots of land surrounding it. It was announced that it was the largest crowd that has ever been in the park for ANY event. The fact that Newt was an hour and a half late because of a traffic accident holding up his bus, that is even more impressive. On the downside, he was clearly exhausted and lacked his usual piss and vinegar.

I was interviewed for 2 Fox News rally events that were on the local news. I spoke up hard for conservatives. ;}

Oh, he likely will. Just as Nixon gave us Agnew and McCain gave us Palin, Romney, if nominated, will likely pick someone of that ilk to throw us red meat and keep us in the tent. But it will be meaningless. For all of Vice President Agnew's conservative speeches, Nixon governed as a liberal President. We got all the rhetoric, tehy got all the action.

Never stay home! Not voting for the lesser of two evils is paramount to surrender. Let’s put it another way: There’s been a home invasion and a gunfight. You’re wounded and have retreated to your bedroom but your gun is now empty. Do you accept defeat and lay down or do you try to reach for the spare magazine? I’d rather fight to the end than surrender. Buy whatever time you can, organize your resources, and then mount an offensive. No surrender, no way!

Suggested bumper sticker for Newt: Sure Newt’s an asshole, but everyone needs an asshole to eliminate waste.

If the Tea Party isn't strong enough to get someone other than Mitt nominated, how do you expect them to be strong enough to field a successful 3rd party candidate?
