If by some chance Santorum is the nominee, I'll vote for him without reservation.
But...he'll be a much better choice down the road when he has a bit more seasoning.
Given our current choices, I'm going ignore some of my reservations about Newt Gingrich and support him over the others.
Gingrich was a sort of political hero to me when I came of age politically. I remember cable channel surfing one morning and ended up watching a class he was giving on American history. I hadn't heard our history explained like that and I was instantly a Gingrich fan.
Plus, he made the right people mad, including all the libs in my family, which is everyone but me.
I didn't enjoy his fall from grace, but given his enemies list, it's no surprise that they would take him down sooner or later. I just wish he didn't make it easy for them, hence my reservations.
No one knows what anyone will do once in office. My bet is that his age, his current marriage, his grandchildren and his conversion to Catholicism along with his time away from DC have grounded him and, combined with his considerable experience and education, will make him very effective restoring our Constitutional foundation and undoing the decades of progressive damage.
Amen,brother. Time to stop this infighting and focus on the real threat: OBAMA.
Newt isnt my favorite,or even in the top five, but I will support him if it means holding my nose and pulling the lever for him.
These debates are like a demonlition derby and all they really do is provide the left with sound bites. Stop aiding the enmny and start pulling together.Stop the deomcrats and RINOS.....

I'll give you a second on that. I'd rather have Newt but think how fun today would be if Newt and Santorum go 1 and 2?!
I think we can all unite around Romney getting out and our choice between 2 candidates that we don't hate!

He has been looked at, and considered, by nearly 100% of the people who are going to vote.
A few think he is presidential, most passed on him.
Tonight, you will see just how many of them favor him over the other three.
Agreed. Santorum has a number of good recommendations for manufacturing and for helping families.
He just needs to go after Romney only.

It just seems to me that the conservative base will start to coalesce around Newt. Bachmann is out, Perry is out, Santorum seems small (the late Iowa victory feels like salt in the wound).
Newt left with the buzz after the last debate and struck a nerve. Perhaps it will be documented as his “Mr. speaker, I paid for this microphone” moment.
And I have somewhat of a public apology to Rick Santorum, (or his team) if they just happened to be checking FR this a.m. on their blackberries and what not. They will have a full plate and may not even read it, but here goes anyway.
I too bought into this "whining" business and probably said it a few times in FR about Santorum, in my zeal for Herman Cain, I may have seen things, shortcomings, what have you, that were not there or if ever they were there, were not to the level I hyped them, all in hopes my own candidate Herman Cain would come in front of Senator Santorum. I have fully examined Santorum now and taken a long time out over the last weeks since my candidate let me down after the mass media pummeled him mercilessly, I have studied Santorum's his family, his code of ethics and morals, his background, his faith, considered that not one of the conservatives in the top running for this has a perfect voting or endorsing record...and anyways, I take back my line about Rick Santorum being a "whiner". I wish him well today. I think he is a very decent man and I believe his family would make one of the best First Families this country has had in a long time. The CNN interview the other night really emphasized that point for me. He is a good guy, a nice guy, a solid guy, a genuine guy, a principled and centered person and I would entrust him in charge of the troops in this dangerous world.

He feels comfortable with himself, regardless if he is alone, or in front of a microphone that the USA is tuned in on.
He speaks from his heart,without a prompter, and I like what I hear.
What is more, he agrees with 80-90% of MY views!

Yes, the least we can hope for is a Karl Rove meltdown on live TV tonight, he might even throw an ashtray or something.

Yes, I meant to also mention Ann Coulter along with Rove. My she sure went over the fence, too, to the enemy. What a disappointment. Well, I guess every person has their price.
Either we stop assigning such importance to these first few primaries, or we close them to only registered Republicans. Until either of those things happen, we're going to end up with a RINO coming out of the gate strong, with MAYBE a consensus conservative to challenge him going into Super Tuesday.
Which, to me, suggests a highly broken system, and it's designed to support RINOs.
