Because of South Carolina's open primary rules, I really think the pressure will be on Rick to drop out after the results today. I'll be surprised if Newt pulls down enough votes to grab the victory from Romney.

Either we stop assigning such importance to these first few primaries, or we close them to only registered Republicans. Until either of those things happen, we're going to end up with a RINO coming out of the gate strong, with MAYBE a consensus conservative to challenge him going into Super Tuesday.

Which, to me, suggests a highly broken system, and it's designed to support RINOs.

I have family in South Carolina. The only question is whether Newt's margin will be by double digits. You can take it to the bank.

I'm predicting only an 8% win, due mainly to wives who will tell their husband (or pollster) that they are voting for Newt and then will not do so in the privacy of the voting booth.
