Newt turns media "gotcha" questioners into road kill!
Coach is Right ^ | 1/20/2012 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

John King has joined Juan Williams as Newt Gingrich road kill. They have both been taught a harsh lesson: Newt Gingrich will not play the “gotcha question” game and he will turn such questions into smack downs of those who insist upon asking them.

In just over 2 minutes Gingrich took King’s opening question about the charges being made by his former wife and flattened the pride of CNN to the delight of hundreds in a South Carolina auditorium and millions across the country.

Newt’s smack down had us banging our fists and saying “Finally! Finally somebody is punching back!”

John King failed miserably in his attempt to destroy Newt Gingrich and put Mitt Romney, his preferred candidate, back on track.

When King opened his questioning of the former Speaker with his “gotcha” question about Gingrich’s marital problems, it was King who was “gotten.”

Blinded by a perceived opportunity to make Gingrich look bad, and create the media’s new John McCain, the salivating King threw aside all pretense of honesty. Nevertheless, his headlong bayonet charge at a man he thought he would catch as unprepared defensive and easy prey, ended abruptly when he ran into a well place straight right to his jaw.

Ashe listened to the roaring standing “O” behind him, the dazed look on King’s face was priceless.

This brief exchange perfectly underscored the chasm between the media and America.

The media don’t really share America’s values. They may have been born and live here, but for them writing about America outside of its edges is like covering a foreign country.

King might have learned his lesson by watching Gingrich destroy Fox’s Juan Williams Tuesday night when he tried to use the media’s shopworn “Republicans are racists” card.

But of course that isn’t possible. The media hate Republicans...

That might have been the very moment that Newt started in race to the White House. To his credit—Mitt backed him up. Only Santorum tried to follow up on Kings attack and looked like a silly boy trying to win points. More and more Rick s. is reminding me of the kid in school who always had his hand up saying “I Know” —The kid everyone grew to hate. Newt aint perfect but he knew when to fight. He deserves a second look and maybe a third and a forth.

Last night was sweeter than Reagan’s “There you go again” comment to Carter, and just as effective, I’ll bet.

"Obama will never show for a debate with Newt,"

As Newt correctly points out, he'll probably be forced to. Newt has said he'll show up everywhere hussein does, and will offer a response to each speech hussein put's out. Hussein will do what he does, spin away, and Newt will gut each speech with common sense solutions.

And if you think about it, this arrangement will work to Newts advantage, since he wont have to deal with some MSM facade of equal time and questions.

Newt...knows how to fight back.

Hasn't he been divorced twice? He should have learned something.

Anyone, who thinks Newt’s smackdown had any effect on the whores of the media, is sadly mistaken.

I read your comment pensively and right now let me say you are absolutely correct. BUT.....

No, the media whores, as you call them, won't cringe from the shame and horror of Newt's condemnation.

In fact Rush today kind of took your position. I'd argue that both you overlook one fact.

The reason the Lamestream gets away with their obvious bias is because the public buys it. They might have their own little society where they yuk-yuk at their wisdom over the masses but when all is said and done, once the masses that they try to fool don't buy it, the jig, as they say, is up.

Part of the reason they got away with their lies and deceit is because the Repubs have air between their legs and have always been ascared of the Lamestream. If they'd have stuck together, OR if just one of them came out swinging, the power they held would have started dropping long ago,.

Other stuff has contributed to the demise of the mighty drive-bys, including this very Internet, talk radio....that sort of thing. But to have the victims finally stand up and shout back is a major milestone.

Newt is one of the first to smack them back and it is rather refreshing.

I'm sure King won't be quivering in his sleep tonight, indeed he might well be a hero amongst his own. But a brick has been removed from their fortress and first one brick, then a barrage.

It's my story and I'm sticking to it.

This is the open secret of his appeal. We sense that Gingrich is two steps ahead of the liberals and knows exactly where they’re coming from at all times. And, what’s more, he’s ready to refute them and refuses to accept their premises. That’s gold.

Absolutely!

The MSM is being “Newtered”

Love it!!!

I agree with the others ... anyone who thinks we give a damn what the MSM thinks or feels is sadly mistaken. It feels awesome to us to see a conservative fight back so effortlessly and lethal. Go Newt!!!

Couldn’t agree more. Not a great Newt lover, but he earned points with me last night. I am not a fool and know that Newt is red meat to the LSM, but he has one hell of a great hook punch! Love it!

That’s the point.

Don’t care how it effected them (the media whores)”

Of course. But we don’t need a Newt smackdown as a feel good exercise.

it probably gained Newt an untold number of new voters.

And that’s why it’s important. We need daily smackdowns of the media whores. Not because if feels good, but because it does good.

What makes you think that I (or Rush) have overlooked one fact? ( ^8 }

We should revel in Newt’s smackdown not because the smackdown makes us feel good, but because it strips the media whores of their every pretense, and the more often these smackdowns occur, the more people become aware of their dishonesty.

The fact is the media whores will never change. That’s not the point. We need the smackdowns every day.

You stick with your story. ( ^ 8 }

I love Newt’s ongoing media smackdowns. They deserve it, and every republican needs to be following his lead. This won’t stop until they are too afraid to ask questions of us, like they are afraid to ask questions of the dems. Or they go out of business, which will be even better.

Unfortunately, a good portion of America doesn’t get the truth that we do everyday. 50% still get little snippets from the MSM and that is what they believe.
