I would like to see one of these guys look into the camera and say, “this is directed to Canada, “if you will just wait until January 21st of 2013 I promise you the first thing I will do when I get to my desk in the White House will be to approve the Keystone Pipeline project”.

The look on John King’s face after Newt returned fire was priceless. If he had been a girl, he would have burst into tears.

The question remains, is Newt Gingrich the kind of moral leader we want in the White House especially if he at one time tried to enter into an open marriage?

I wonder what I would find if I were to research Mr. Mayberry's comments about Bill Clinton's impeachment.

Interesting that Santorum says forgive but not forget....I wonder if that is how he handles his wife’s premarital affair and abortion? If so, I feel sorry for her. Santorum is a bit too self righteous for me.

"Gingrich started out well with his boisterous response to John King and his own personal attack on Romney’s pro-life claim. However, he more or less ended up coming off as angry and defensive more than in command of the debate. He argued some strong points but unfortunately for Newt his message was drowned out by what was going on at the Nightline studios this evening."

The relevance of marital fidelity, which was always ignored in the press (e.g. Kennedy, Roosevelt, etc.) was certainly killed off by the antics of the Clinton Era. The Lame-Stream Media continues to shill unabashedly for the Dems. It's about time they got called on it.

I don't endorse Newt's marital record, but for reasons apparent to mostly everyone on this Forum, I would gladly vote for him against the Kenyan-in-Chief come November.

The wonderful thing about the internet and FR is that anyone with a point of view can blog and then post in a forum with hundred of thousands of participants.

This isn’t a slam against Mr. Mayberry or his POV. It is a positive comment about a blogger who is trying to build an audience.

If John King was a victim , it was his own doing.

He thought he had Newt by the gnads with his question and he got it shoved up his backside.

Good for Newt.

I see a lot of bad mouthing of Newt here in FR, and some of it may be warranted, I didnt’t like him myself at first, but the man has the fire. He has the experience, and he knows tha facts, and can spit them out.

Newt might not be the perfect candidate, but he is the only one who can beat the Dingaling in the WH now.
That’s good enough for me.

Respectfully, I'm not sure if you and I saw the same debate.

First of all, Romney's not in the lead in SC anymore. Gingrich is up by 5-ish points as of last night.

At the debate, Ron Paul, was, well, Ron Paul. Nothing new, beyond red meat for his base.

Santorum lost, no question. He's too nice a guy to get in the muck and wade around. Last night's debate reinforced Monday's, IMHO, namely that he's just not ready yet for Prime Time. I *would* consider him a good VP, though. It would be nice to have someone solid waiting in the wings. In '08, Bush didn't leave the Republicans with any up and comers.

Romney, as usual, didn't play to win. He played not to lose. Took both sides of a couple of topics, as usual. I think that playing defense constantly is an interesting tactic. He'll hold his 30-ish percent this way, but I don't think that it will get him much higher than that.

Gingrich, as on Monday, walked up to the plate and swung from the heels. He needed a couple of home runs Monday night and last night, and he accomplished exactly that.

I walked into Monday night, frankly, not liking any of the candidates that were left. This morning, I think Gingrich is the best of the bunch. The man is flawed, but as other FReepers have said, I want to vote for a President, not marry the guy. We need someone who can plainly articulate Conservative principles and who can inspire the base. Right now, Gingrich is the only guy left who can do just that.

Also, I like the fact that he stands up to the media. The MSM is used to hearing "Mr Reporter, I just slightly disagree with your point, and I'm very very sorry for doing that." Now, Gingrich is giving them what I've been wishing to hear for 20 years, namely, "Look, you're wrong. And that's an offensive question to boot." If that makes him an idealogue, I'll live with it. Meanwhile, it's nice to hear someone call a spade a spade.

Hey guys! Thanks for reading. it is nice to see so many view points here. I do actually support Gingrich and I wasn’t as much say King was a victim in a tradition sense but more so in the fact that he didn’t know what he was walking into. Gingrich knew what he had to do with that inevitable question and had been preparing of fit all day. Poor John King just got destroyed on national television. That is what I meant by a victim of Newt saving face. Don’t get me wrong I thought it was a way underhanded question.
