The above is from an E-mail I received.

I thought it was so heartfelt and truthful, it would be well received here on FR.

I took the liberty of giving it a fitting title.

To depart from a path, don’t you have to first be on it?

What major pieces of legislation would Perry propose that Romney would not?

“Rick Perry Will Not Depart From His Conservative Record or Path”

A great email, thanks for sharing it. I do however hope that when he gets his single digit return in S. Carolina he takes the opportunity to exit the race and endorse the most conservative candidate in it.

If the Repub candidate loses to Obama in November, perhaps Perry can get himself better prepared and run again in ‘16.

Depending upon the competition I would be an early supporter.

Of the remaining field, I think Perry is the best of the bunch, in terms of his ideology and record. I’m glad he is staying in the race, but I think his candidacy is doomed. Even his contemporary in South Carolina, Gov. Nikki Haley, has endorsed Romney.

If he can somehow finish in the top 2 in SC, and then show well in Florida, maybe he can stay in for the southern states.

Otherwise, he will be unable to raise money, and his day as a non-Romney will be over.

CW,
I am fine with Rick and would gladly vote for him.
There are no perfect candidates anyway. Zero.

He has a lot to admire and a few decisions that in retrospect were not good.
So did Ronaldus Magnus. I can only hope he learns, as we all must.

I personally think he still has time to continue. This won’t be decided and
locked up until March or April anyway.

I am willing to vote for Rick, Rick, or Newt.

Romney is a turd in the punchbowl.
HuntsRINO - no chance
RuPaul - 2/3 crazy

This is right on.

Perry is a man of Character. WITH A CORE.

I watch the bar room brawling of the other candidates and just shake my head.

Eventually they will have to sober up.
Look at the Paul supporters and their disgusting ad.

But ofcourse Paul didn’t have ANYTHING to do with it. He never does. This claims of: WHO ME? I didn’t do it. Are symptomatic of a man that that never takes responsibility
for what his vile hatred infects.

Perry is an optimist and knows what he is doing. If everyone wants the status quo vote for one of the others.
If you want America Back.....VOTE PERRY.

I'm replying to you with what I honestly believe, not trying to pick an argument.

The Texas economy was somewhat better than the rest of the Nation prior to Perry, and will likely remain as such after Perry. I say somewhat strong as celebrating an unemployment rate over 8% for a period of time isn't really something to crow about in normal times. I don't like the debt the great state of Texas has taken on under this Governor.

I don't like the tight rope he walks on illegal immigration. He made his “heartless” comment in regards to those who are opposed to in state tuition (in which he supports), failing to recognize that by providing benefits to illegal activity also encourages more illegal activity. I'm not crazy about the numbers of illegal immigrants soaring under Perry. I don't like a convoluted idea of “strategic fencing”. Either one is for putting up a fence or they're against it. I don't find this an issue where there is middle ground, try as he might.

I'm not crazy about the Gardasil issue, though I accepted his explanation for being wrong in the way he imposed the law.

I don't like the appearance of the Governor taking care of certain friends, and I don't like how those friends have the appearance of taking care of him (his real estate transactions).

With that being said (and I'm fairly sure you will take issue with those points), I do like the talk of states rights, less Government regulation, less taxation, a pro-life agenda and a return to personal responsibility.

I've posted to you before that I'm certainly not critical of you and your fellow Perry supporters. I have felt all along that Perry has been his own worst enemy (debates and continued misstatements) either because of a lack of preparation or maybe he just isn't that good in pressure situations. A Presidential campaign is a far greater task than anything he's faced before.

The reluctance felt by many to support the Governor was not only here, but manifested itself in a fifth place finish in Iowa, a state who does have a different primary method, but still a state in which he should have done far better if he had hoped to be a major player.

Should he be proceeding on? That's his choice, but I just don't see how he can remake himself now. He is who he is and altering from that now would make him appear disingenuous. It's also possible by continuing on will reduce his role to that of a spoiler, favoring someone whom most of us really don't want to see as the nominee, Mitt Romney.

Thanks for sharing that email with us. I’m still supporting Perry 100 %.

The debates over the weekend should be an opportunity for him to score major points based on his record versus the other candidates, and I look forward to a winning outcome for Perry in S. Carolina !

People have an opportunity to put a great conservative man in the WH and save this country. They have one opportunity with Governor Perry...if they miss it, it’s missed. He’ll never run for POTUS again. I have my doubts we’ll even have a country left but one place will be left is Texas. And Governor Perry can take care of all us Texans as he has done for years.

This country does not deserve a Rick Perry. That's my belief, sister. There aren't enough good people to see what's going on anymore. Thankfully there are a few on FR. Even the media is baffled why people aren't getting behind the only qualified conservative in the race - Rick Perry.

The most important words spoken in many a day were last night by Donna Brazile. "The democrats want Mitt Romney because we think he's the weakest candidate."

This group of republican/Tea Party voters are responsible for their own mess.
