I knew there was an anti-missile exercise going on here with the US this month, but for some reason, they're talking about deploying thousands of US troops to Israel. That makes it sound like they plan to stay a while (Hat Tip: Betty W).
Calling it not just an exercise, but a deployment, the Jerusalem Post quotes US Lt.-Gen Frank Gorenc, Commander of the US Third Air Force based in Germany. The US Commander visited Israel two weeks ago to confirm details for the deployment of several thousand American soldiers to Israel. In an effort to respond to recent Iranian threats and counter-threats, Israel announced the largest ever missile defense exercise in its history. Now, its reported that the US military, including the US Navy, will be stationed throughout Israel, also taking part.
Also confirming the upcoming US-Israeli military missile exercises is JTA.org - 'global news service of the Jewish people'. In their account, they report, 'Last week, plans for Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, to visit Israel in January were leaked to Israeli media; his visit likely will coincide with the largest-ever joint U.S.-Israel anti-missile exercise'.

I agree with where you are going with this. My immediate reaction was CANNON FODDER.
Put together the announcement today of basically laying off thousands of active duty soldiers. You have the regime releasing high ranking Taliban back to their lairs to plot more deaths on our forces in the ME. Then send thousands to Israel to absorb the Iranian nuke and you have a US military that is stretched to a shadow of its former self.
Its all a trap.
0bama is pure f#cking evil. I weep for my son’s future.
Israel can absolutely defend itself but if you want to instigate a fight just plant your forces close to the belligerent country of choice. Now you have the big Satan and little Satan in one place. Iran won’t pass that up!
So are their troops...
Iran is a rabid animal pushed in a corner. Only one way out and oil will hit 150.00 quick.
I wouldnt go anywhere near Damascus thats for sure.
I pray for your son’s future. We will make this right. Deo Vindice

Isaiah 17 too
Exactly
Israel is the closest thing we have to an ally in that part of the world. A lot of countries we consider allies send troops here to train and coordinate strategies. It would not be particularly unusual for us to send our troops there for the same purpose.
So I’m curious.. If there is a couple missile attacks on us from Hezbollah or similar, Do we just sit and watch the Israeli response, or our we allowed to shoot back?
