I have a life, and I find it odd that you would react this way to a comment about not letting our use of English slide into quasi-illiteracy.
The money amounts are just numbers. Surely, somewhere in the govt archives, is a breakdown of taxes paid by state, by county, by city, alphabetically within a county, etc.
Some enterprising blogger/reporter should ferret it out and instead of saying “Costs Taxpayers $xxxxxx”, personalize it and say it “All Taxpayers in PossumTrot, AR paid for the trip, or, “All taxpayers whose last names began with ‘M’ in PossumTrot paid . . .”.
Maybe if it suddenly hit people it was THEIR money being peed away they’d start to raise Hell. Right now, with just cyphers, the politicians get away with “Well, it is only pennies each”.

The thing about Bush’s vacations is that they were all to his ranch in Crawford, which cost taxpayers nothing beyond Secret Service expenses which are automatic anyway.
it could be triple that amount and would never equal my time spent with my family, under my beautiful Christmas tree with my nativity, my prayers, my appreciate for everything we have WORKED for and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
The obamas? Who cares where they go or what they spend. I don’t. True happiness doesn’t cost a penny and you don’t need to travel away from home to find it. I pity them.

Was that a rhetorical question? :) The Hawaii Reporter story was in Politico 44 yesterday so you have to give a liberal website credit for that. As far as I know it hasn't made it beyond conservative websites. It wasn't even on Drudge last I looked.

This is a good use of taxpayer money by Obama. $4 million is less than nothing to our overspending and frankly, the longer Obama is out screwing off, the less time he has to screw over the nation. I would gladly have seen him spend $4 billion for a 1000 day vacation that kept him out of the White House.
