Agreed. I would not bother having one. I have one of those new Keltec PMR 30’s on order for a target shooter/plinker. Its a semi auto .22 mag with a 30 round magazine. It only weighs 19 oz fully loaded and no kick.
Just make sure your wife is the one that picks it out.
My wife surprised me a couple of weeks ago. She had always expressed comfort using a revolver because they are simple and easy to operate. I took her to one of the local Ruger dealers with full intention of purchasing an LCR in .38 SPL for her. We ended up walking out with an LC9!
Gun-Tests magazine has just listed the PM-30 as one of the best guns of the year, but alas, I live in CA and can't have one.
I do not see many other .22 revolvers that weigh less than a pound. The ones that I do see cost as much or more, like the .22 Ladysmith, which is also an 8 shot.
If you are talking small semi-autos, then there are a number, but the .22 is not as reliable in semi-autos. Plenty of .25, .32 and .380 small, light semi-autos, but they are not .22 caliber with all the advantages of cheap and light ammunition.
If you want a .22 revolver that is very light and high quality, this is one of a very few.
Kel-tec .380 loaded with hollow points. Way smaller than this Ruger.

I just bought a S&W Bodyguard with built in laser. Love that little gun and it was @360.00.

I love my pum 410 for home defense- i can see laying a bad guy to waste and not having too much damage to the drywall behind him
.22 practice ammo 4 cents a round. .38 practice ammo, 24 cents a round. 20 cents a round difference. In only 2,500 rounds of practice .22 ( I used to do that much in a month) you have paid for the revolver.
This is also why people who are serious about pistol practice tend to be reloaders. You can get the price of a reloaded .38 special down to 10 cents a round.
does anyone know what the laws are for ‘mkodifying’ your shotgun?
I would love to see a 410 double barrel sawed off on both ends but how much can you cut off and be legal?
You wouldn’t have to fire it. Just level that thing at anyone and they are crapping all over the place like a puppy dog.

Yes, that video rocks. LOL!! Be forewarned that the PMR 30 is on deep backorder. I have been waiting since last Oct and I am now up to number 16 on a list of 360 at Impact.com. Most of the online sites won’t even take an order. Keltec is shipping 500 per week to 30 distributors so I figure Impact is getting about 1 weapon a month. At this point I have been waiting so long I’m just going to tough it out. At some point I’ll get it. I cannot wait to get some range time with it.

Minimum barrel length is 18 inches or else you have to get a class 3 license for a short barreled weapon. Under 18 inches you are in violation of Federal law.
