People like Carlson who so rabidly oppose Cain on grounds that he is not up to their personal and obviously very subjective standards of ‘qualification’ for the Presidency ought to remember the kind of equally biased and unwarranted criticism that Harry Truman took from HIS opponents, both during his vice-Presidency and at the outset of his Presidency. All sorts of attacks were made on him personally on his experience and on his fitness to lead.
In the end... Truman turned out to be one of the brightest stars in the entire constellation of American politics.
Based on my reading about Truman and the fact that he had the guts to drop 2 atomic bombs, he’s probably the only 20th century Democrat president that I have respect for. The guy seemed to have the strength of Patton. What happen to that generation of men?
