Good metaphor...the only quibble I would have is that Hussein didn't even do it. Hussein sent some rabid dogs to kill the lion. Rabid dogs that would just as soon kill any westerner who pissed them off.
Nicely done. It could use some expansion and more details for those who get their facts from the media and really don’t know what was going on in Libya. But still very well put.

As stuffed animals, "teddy bears" were first made by Morris Michtom, who was inspired by a 1902 cartoon by Clifford Berryman in The Washington Post depicting President Teddy Roosevelt refusing, because it would have been un-sportsmanlike, to shoot a tired old bear that had been trapped and tied up for him. It was based on an actual hunting trip incident.
The crime for which Khadaffi was killed was not terrorism and had nothing to do with his role as a tin horned despot. Khadaffi’s capital crime was his imminent plan to introduce a gold-backed dinar as the medium of exchange for North African oil. That was a crime that the West would not excuse; now Khaddafi is dead and Libya has begun its descent into the modern Stone Age of Muslim theocracy.
