"Who won the latest Republican debate? Going into the debate, Mitt Romney was the frontrunner. After the debate, he remains the frontrunner. Of all the candidates, Romney appeared the most presidential. He is becoming increasingly skilled in debates. Other candidates attempted to challenge Romney on a number of occasions, but he used them as opportunities to promote his candidacy. In some ways, Herman Cain was in the center of the debate. The crowd enjoyed Cain, but he runs the risk of becoming a one-note candidate, known only for his "9-9-9" plan. As for Rick Perry, he was not harmed as he was in previous debates, but he was flat. He seemed afraid of hurting himself. Romney and Cain were comfortable.
The Republican debate this evening had an unusual format. Rather than having each candidate at his own podium, as in all the previous debates, the candidates were seated at one big table. In the past, this format has been known to encourage the candidates to be a bit more civil. For some reason, candidates are less comfortable attacking each other when seated together...."

The electorate is “over” Texans in the White House for at least the next two presidential cycles. He’s cabinet-material.
Cut and Run Paul is no prophet, and yes, he is unelectable.
You know God will forgive you but the rest of the USA won’t!
Another 4 years of Obama? Surely you jest? Too many conservatives did that in 08 and we got Obama. How brillant was that?
Cain starting to look like a one-trick pony with his 999, 999, 999 mantra. He didn’t hold up well to minor scrutiny.
I really liked it when the TAX lawyer was talking about tax policy. Ya right Bachman, you dolt! You and your tax lawyer friends are the reason we have the tax system we have. Its good for your business hey?
Then the constant I this and I that. People better learn that when some shyster is up there saying I, you better run from them and dam fast.
I would like to ask them one question. For what purposes can the federal government tax the people? I bet only one or two could answer that question.
The whole thing was pretty dull. Could have been the format. Could have been the questioners. Hard to make that group seem dull.
It would be wonderful to watch Newt wipe the floor with Obama in debates. Whoever our candidate is, with one exception, “Ears” will pull out the race card and try to whip us with it. Only Cain can “school” Obama and mostly get away with it.
What a bizarre comment.
We Need To Get Rid Of the Communist!!!
I don’t get it, either.
Let’s have a little perspective (re: staying home if Romney wins)! Yes, Romney is a weasel who embodies everything we hate in politicians, but I am NOT voting for four more years of Obama by staying home. Romney for all his faults, is no pure socialist like Obama and would at minimum do some things right. Obama has done virtually nothing right. I would hope that if we get saddled with Romney, we can all support him and work to defeat the evil overlord occupying the White House.
Santorum was pretty good. He manhandled Cain a couple of times then passed him over to Ron Paul who did the same. But Santorum always seems to do well — he just doesn’t ever seem to really matter.
In the last minute or two of the debate, did I hear Perry say that he was the governor of the largest state in the nation??? My DH turned the channel before I had a chance to run it back on the DVR.
“Perry does not seem to have a grasp of the English language.”
What do you expect? He went to A&M.
I can’t wait until Perry gets started later this week with the details of his job and energy plans. It’s going to be good.
lol...I completely understand where you are coming from; however, like it or not, people (drones/robots) look at the ‘appearance’ and ‘presence’ of a person instead of looking at the ‘substance’. Why do you think that the commie dems stage so many photos? They’re shown with our troops or trapsing around on a beach and appearing to be ‘in love’ or being on that same beach, kneeling and drawing a ‘cross’ in the sand; while the photographer/reporter, that just happens to be there, captures the moment.
Images are powerful; for the past 30 years they have driven the culture.
Same here..I am NOT voting for anyone but Cain, no more RINOs.
I wonder if it would help Cain’s campaign for him to put 9-9-9 on the back burner. I suspect that most of Cain’s supporters like the man much more than they like his tax policy.
