I just shook Herman Cain's hand at his book signing in College Station, TX.
I know, I know, 'and you had to run post a vanity about it ...' YES I DID!
I'm stoked!

Actually people reacted to Reagan and Palin and both Bush's this way too. This is not new.
Let them have their moment. There is plenty of time for politics later.

I met him on St. Patty’s day - it was a last minute stop and no crowds.
I was there with my husband and sons. Cain shook our hands, asked me what I wanted him to write in his book (They Think your Stupid) talked to my kids on their level and asked them about themselves. We talked about our restaurant business for a bit. Then he came out from behind the table for the picture because he said he didn’t want me tripping on those cords, put his arms around us for the picture. That is a moment my kids will NEVER forget.
He definately has some impressive security guys :-)

Good crowd, several hundred, cheers when he came in, he was clearly enjoying bantering with the crowd.
I told him my tagline should be a bumper sticker. He laughed heartily.

People react the same way to meeting Rick Perry.
So are they "zombies" too?
Glad you like Perry. Racing around screaming bile at everyone on every thread that doesn't agree with your opinions does not help Perry.

Lucky you.
I was in the greeting line for George W. Bush as he was getting ready to board Air Force 1. He was supposed to walk the line, but there was a last minute change of plans as he was rushed by us and to a group of reporters to give a statement about an American soldier who was just decapitated in Iraq. The look on his face was very sad.

I left out a word “I can not IMAGINE....a more sincere handshake. Firm and dry with a twinkle in his eye. :o)
