Church leaders in Ghana are concerned but not entirely surprised by this and other cases where pastors are abusing their position. Rev. Gideon Titi-Offei, the general secretary of the National Association of Charismatic Christian Churches pointed out that the Bible, as usual, was not silent on this issue.
We are extremely worried that pastors of late are making the front pages of various newspapers for the wrong reasons
but its not surprising to us at all, because the Bible is not silent on wolves coming in sheeps clothing. And the Bible also talks about Satan coming in the form of an agent of light.

And if this “story” is actually worth reading, just what prevents you from posting it in full, right here?
Exactly what I clicked on the thread to say.
I have nothing further to add...
In front of a tribal court Nkansah pleaded guilty but claimed he had been ordered to have sex with the girls by celestial powers The tribal court fined him a ram and two bottles of schnapps and the ram was slaughtered to reverse the curse.Did this really happen? Sounds like BS.He was then handed over to the civil court where a judge gave him twenty years in the slammer to reflect on those celestial powers .
Pastor Says He Was Ordered To Rape Five Sisters By Celestial Powers
Brother Johnson dialed up...and he had to do it...
Laying on of hands...you’re doing it wrong. And besides, that’s not a hand.
I have a family member whose family is part of a small Baptist (informational purposes only) congregation in south eastern Ohio. The husband and wife were going through some issues, and sought counseling (at least the wife did) from the clergyman, who was new and had recently left another congregation in another part of the state. It turned out, though, that he (the pastor) began courting the wife and eventually raped her. All the while he told her that it was ok, because the Bible said that he was supposed to take care of the women whose husbands didn’t treat them like they should be (in this case the couple were having money problems, so the clergyman said the husband was not providing).
Anyway, it came out that he had seduce or raped several women in the church (some in his church office, no less!), and they did some investigating, and found out that it was the reason why he had left his old church, but that there was no background verification to pass on the information. Needless to say, the church decided to always call the old congregation in the future when getting a new pastor.
Anyway, the moral of the story is, that this happens. It’s vile and despicable, and personally, I’m not sure how anyone could not see that it is wrong (personally I think they know it’s wrong and ignore their conscience until it stops urging them to stop). Yet, it happens.
I have to ask myself why I clicked on that link. Why did I fall for it?
Never again. If it’s a blog and an except, that’s it, I’m moving on... though I may stop long enough to ask the question you just asked, why not post it in full here.
An epidemic it is!
(And check out the posting history - a string of “1 of...”)
“Did this really happen? Sounds like BS.”
This is a tribal court in Africa (Ghana). I had a friend (Ph.D, and not prone to making things up) from Nigeria who mentioned that, in the part of the country she is from, if a wife divorces her husband they tear down his hut, break down the fences and scatter his goat flock. I wouldn’t be so quick to say this is impossible to imagine.
I hear that in South Africa, 25% of the men admitted to being rapists. I also hear that tribal shamanistic beliefs tell them that raping children or virgins can cure AIDS.
Sounds to me, that when someone does bad things in the name of their chrurch or religion, it’s not really the church or religion’s fault, but actually the individuals!
Any excuse to act like animals.
That’s true. My point was that people “of the cloth” can come up with some crazy excuses to do some vile things. I’m confident that it’s an individual problem, rather than a denominational one.
Sounds like Joseph Smith.
He claimed an angel with a sword was threatening to slice him up if he didn’t start dropping bone on the teenage female community of Nauvoo, IL. He got busy.
I had not heard that. I know in New Guinea the kukukuku (tribe name), believe that men must sodomize young boys in order to ahem...”inject”.. them with what makes them a man (in order to mature). There are some pretty sick practices in this world.
Does that apply to Islam?
“Civilization” was a nice idea while it lasted
I am sorry. Even the word “civilization” is a controversial term because it suggests that one culture is better than another (the uncivilized).
How PC is that??
I typically don’t consider Islam a religion, but a political system (which piggy backed off of Judaism for most of it’s religious figures).
