then this must be one such instance that does not come under “usually”.
If you watch the video (I have watched it about 20 times) you will see that she only says 2 words before she says “they fold that flag.” She can’t say, “look at the way” because that is saying 4 words and it doesn’t even match her mouth movements.
As I said before, I think she is impressed—even though you seem to think it wasn’t a first-rate job. I don’t think she is going to say something negative when a million cameras are watching her every move. She knows how the game is played. And I sincerely believe that even Michelle Obama, despite her unpatriotic comment in the past, could really be impressed by something like this, especially on an emotional and moving day like 9-11.
I noticed this yesterday. I thought she said (something something something) FAT.
Here is a better video in context from a German station. Note how she is standing right next to Bush. At about 2:45

I’m not sure that’s what she said. It’s not that clear to me.
Just looked at the short video, and it does seem like she says, “All this for a stupid flag”, and then smirks.
Oh, my.
Actually, I’ve changed my mind. I don’t think that she was impressed, but ticked off, regarding the flag-folding. I went back and looked at it, and boy, I was mildly shocked myself that these gentlemen did such a poor job, considering the importance of the occasion with lots of tv coverage and that many dignitaries were present. I think Mrs. Obama noticed the poor job, too and wasn’t shy about letting Barry know it. Even so, she should have kept it to herself-—I’m sure the flag-folders were doing their best and were sincere. Not an occasion to judge others, especially those that wear the uniform. And she knows that cameras are focused on her.
I would think she is smarter. But that last word definitely looks like “flag”, and she does make a negative gesture.
I watched it a couple of time....looks like she said....all this for a flag..... I am surprised they didn’t roll their eyes....all the democrats must be soooooo proooood of their president...he’s not mine, I didn’t vote for him, I voted for Palin otherwise I would have left president vacant...couldn’t bring myself to vote for mclame, he couldn’t even fly without crashing not 1 but 2 planes...
I can’t tell what she said at all. I don’t like Michelle Obama at all, really she’s pretty b*tchy it seems to me, but I very much doubt she said “all this for a flag” or whatever.
Those words don’t “fit” when you watch the video.
“Her facial expression was one of disdain.”
But you know, she always looks like that.
I remember one day I was here scrolling around and there was some anti-Michelle thread and people had posted many unflattering pictures of her.
Then, because of whatever outrage de jour I went to the WH website to jot down the phone number so I could call and tell them how much they stink....well right on the front page of the WH website was a picture of Barack and Michelle, and she just had that pursed lip b*tch face so common to annoying middle aged women everywhere.
It was actually worse than any of the pix the freepers had posted.
I even went back to the original thread and posted about it, iirc, because I could barely believe it.
Sigh....she reminds me of the worst of my mom. Sorry mom!
btt
Later
All this folding flag business is hard on the marxist muslims. Poor Michelle must be worn out from 9 11 and will need another $10 million for vacations to recuperate. The American haters disgust cannot be disguised....
Look at King Barry’s expression as he is nodding. Notice how he has a mocking half-smile on his mug. Notice Michelle Antoinette shake her head at the very end as she assumes the same half-smile. It could be innocent, but I doubt it.
I despise those people.
Posted to FB.
Agreed. This reminds me of the 911 truthers. Trying to make something from nothing.
You can’t hear the words, but you can read the expressions on their faces clearly. They are mocking something. You can argue about what they are referring to, but unless you are blind, you can’t miss their condescending attitude.
Even if they are amused by some silly screw up in the ceremony, it wasn’t the time or place to pass jokes between them.
I just watched it several times and agree with you.
