You can’t hear the words, but you can read the expressions on their faces clearly. They are mocking something. You can argue about what they are referring to, but unless you are blind, you can’t miss their condescending attitude.

Even if they are amused by some silly screw up in the ceremony, it wasn’t the time or place to pass jokes between them.

or....maybe you're just looking for the condescending attitude and perhaps misconstruing what you want to see with a more realistic option...a comment about the folding of the flag and incredulity - potentially positive - about either the act or the flag.

Why jump to conclusions?
