Assuming that it was not a transferable full-auto, in which case it would have cost about $10,000, there is not registration requirement for guns in Nevada and most other states.

Ummm...excuse me? Yeah, there is. And you have to have a class 1 license or be a registered dealer to even have a full automatic weapon in your safe.
Where did you get this obviously wrong info?
