What do you do when all of your Keynesian economic plans fail? What do you do when there are, dare I say, no more arrows in the quiver? What do you do when time and time again socialistic policies fail around the world? Why you make your attacks personal. 2 stories here and one video for your edification. Did you really think theyd give up that easily?

The angry dems will soon start to name calling of course.
They won’t just call us terrorists, but racists, hillbillies, dumb farmers, drunks, etc.
It will be shrill.

All they will succeed in doing is balkanizing the nation even more than it is already balkanized. I think their greatest desire is to impose a monolithic tyranny in which the Political Elitists live up in the castle and rule over the rest of us as serfs.
But, if they cannot achieve that, I think they would be happy to balkanize the country, break our power, destroy our economy, destroy our society, destroy our families, destoy western civilization ... and give the third worlders a chance to take over.
It's really anti-colonialism all over again. The Europeans were seen as doing a bad job in Kenya and Uganda, and everywhere else. The big goal of the 1950s and 60s was to throw the whites out and bring in people like Idi Amin.
That was seen as an improvement. And here we are.

The asshats/moonbats/libs and general group of damaged DNA weirdos are scraping the bottom of the barrel. Such projection will not do them well. They are scared. They should be very afraid.

Once upon a time, that was a decent strategy. Marginalize your opponent. Trivialize and mock. People would be afraid to state their opinions and the movement would falter.
Social media has changed all that and now they are only preaching to the choir (which, for them, should be unconstitutional).
The problem with trying to marginalize your opponents is that if you aren't successful, you risk marginalizing yourself.

Let's remember, the Democrats are always playing to their base-that would be anti-capitalist, hollywood and college professor types, plus young idealists, the lazy and the entitled.
There is no downside to attacking someone you've already declared as the enemy. And the private-sector is clearly the enemy of this crowd.
Tea partiers are merely private-sector players who finally had enough of government meddling, had enough of being maligned, had enough of their freedoms threatened, and so they took time off from work and marched. Oh, and in 2010 they voted.
I think the strategy here is to take advantage of the fact that some REPUBLICANS don't appreciate the tea partiers, and in attacking them Obama hopes to create more division within the party. Will it work? I doubt it. There's something really encouraging about this, the fact that they don't have a more powerful weapon in their aresenal than this one.

I'll repost something that I offered on another thread, as I think it appropriate to this discussion:
The task of de-legitimizing and marginalizing Conservatives (and in fact anyone who dares oppose the Left) has long been part of the Progressive strategy. It begins with ridicule, and is often followed by accusations of mental deficiency or instability, and then by suggestions of danger and also of a need for potential governmental action to minimize the "threat" to public safety.
At this stage, members of the opposition ("reactionaries") have been effectively depersonalized and the groundwork laid for the denial of their liberty. In countries where the Left has been given (or has taken) full reign, what follows is the redefinition of political dissent as mental illness, then its criminalization, and then, far worse, as a man named Solzhenitsyn so eloquently testified.
And among his messages was: do not think that it cannot happen where you live.

When liberals resort to personal attacks, it means they believe their ideas have already lost the argument.

And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!

WHEN this fails, the left will start to say the left is the tea party because all the founding fathers were socialists.

Resistance in the face of tyranny is a moral duty. May God help us if we ever reach that point, but as your excerpt from The Gulag Archipelago makes plain, the cost of fearful paralysis can doom millions of innocents, including those who cannot quite bring themselves to believe what they are seeing with their own eyes, much less act - no matter how often they were warned in advance of what was coming.
