As usual, Texas rules!
If we had a literate MSM, this would be the start of a massive scandal.
But, we don’t, and it will not be.
(But keep hammering, sooner or later it’ll catch on.)
Maybe so, but there are lots of mistakes in this analysis.
I’m tearing up here. My Daddy and his brothers were all (far from Dumb) Ol’ East Texas boys and my Hub is a (far from Dumb) Ol’ East Texas boy. I love ‘em all. They’re in a class by themselves. What every American ought to strive to be. OK, I’m biased so sue me. :)
Might you post a version of the Birth “Document” you are referring to with this analysis?

A little bit of history never hurt...we did in fact have some hyphenated american group names, my Uncle being a member of the The Italo-American Club, founded in RI (established in 1896) Social Club (no Mussolini pics on the wall, though) in the 50’s. The Franco-American Club was just down the street. Not trying to be a wise guy, just saying what I know to be true.
From personal recollection, I believe Afro-American didn’t come into vogue until middle to late 60’s on the west coast, but certainly no African-American term was in use then...not until later. George Carlin did a great bit on being confused about the whole nomenclature changey thingy with that hyphenated thing in concert in the late 70’s.
That was great, thanks!
