Wayne Allen Root, who would be a classmate ('83) of Obama's at Columbia in political science, and who is in his own right an author and radio talk show host, has stated that he is aware of everyone in that class who majored in political science, and that no one has any recollection of Obama.

I'm well aware or Root's story and have quoted it myself. But we do have to realize that Root and his crowd, and Obama and whomever he associated with would not likely have had anything in common.

Supposedly this Professor Michael Baron remembered Obama during an interview by NBC News. (source) Also the NYT reported:

One person who did remember Mr. Obama was Michael L. Baron, who taught a senior seminar on international politics and American policy. Mr. Baron, now president of an electronics company in Florida, said he was Mr. Obama’s adviser on the senior thesis for that course. Mr. Baron, who later wrote Mr. Obama a recommendation for Harvard Law School, gave him an A in the course.

Right now it's still way too much for me to believe that Obama never attended Columbia.

Aware of that Prof. Michael Baron story. But could Baron have just been conveniently found during the heat of the 2008 to provide cover for Obama?

Wayne Root alsotsted that at a reunion, not too long before ‘08 he was asked to be the official at reunion. He pointed out that IF Barry was really a student it was quite remarkable that Columbia did not ask Barry. Actually his name was never mentioned. A senator never even mentioned?
Also Wayne and Barry’ paths should have crossed as they were both in the same area. A young 1/2 white/ mixed Arab/ and black. Good looking party guy and no one remembers him?
Manning studied across the street and has stated he would have known of him for sure. The ladies that scoured yearbooks during the *Trial* of Columbia could find no Barry, no Barrack, Dunham, Soetoro, nor Obama.
I dunno but I think the Columbia story is just that or there is much more to it.
