Exactly. Stabilize them, then transport the criminal to the closest border town—with the bill to the nearest consulate.
You think that’s tough? Try telling a bill collector for your muncipal hospital, “Gee, things are kinda tough right now... lost my job. Yeah, guys I don’t know who speak pidgeon English are doing it now a lot cheaper.” And good luck with that.
These are foreign nationals, here in knowing violation of our immigration laws, living off our tax dollars. Let me tune up my little violin and play, “Mi Corazon Pumps Purple P*** For You.” Get the hell out of our country and don’t come back!
We’re fighting Libya? What the hell for? Our bad neighbors to the south give us hundreds of valid reasons every day for bombing/shooting them.

I must disagree. The Messican Government, either through their consulates or in any other way, will not pay those bills. After all, Messicans are going to be Messican.

As for allowing the illegal Messican to die on the street outside the hospital - what do you think happens in Messico?

More to the point, what do you think Messico does with non-American patients presenting at a Messican hospital with an emergency and no money?

Actually, I would appreciate any hard data from a reliable source regarding these issues. It is always possible there might be some treaty agreement which our neighboring nations to the south actually follow.

Maybe.

Perhaps.
