(CNSNews.com) - As New York enacted a law late Friday that legalizes same-sex marriage in the state, the Roman Catholic bishops of New York released a statement saying they now expect efforts to enact laws that go after churches that insist on teaching the "timeless truths" about marriage and family.

Yep, complete with a "work makes you free" sign at the gate.

Right.

Or maybe . . .

“LET US HELP YOU CONTRIBUTE YOUR SUBSTANCE TO THE BENEFIT OF MOTHER EARTH.”

“You can choose to benefit an old growth conifer forest, a rain forest, grasslands or wildflowers.”

“The well heeled can make special requests to benefit the diets of sharks or orcas.”

Since the governor in this case is Catholic, I believe the first move would be most effective if made by the Catholic Church. But I would be happy with any major Christian figure speaking up loudly.

I REALLY DO NOT KNOW what to do with these puzzle pieces, per se.

1. I still do not believe the Fatima phenomena to be truly of God.

2. These sites/links/puzzle pieces contain very interesting twists, to me.

3. I’m genuinely curious what more earnest RC’s would say about such perspectives.

4. I’m not, per se, interested in diatribes re these links.

5. The assertions will evidently have a next event deadline of 07:00 30 June 2011 Thursday.

6. This thread’s title has to do with ‘government sanctions against particularly authentic Christian churches.’ I’m convinced that’s increasing more and more rapidly and more and more sternly. It seems to me that from some RC perspective(s) these links could be concurring. But I’m not certain and wonder how convinced, energetic RC’s might compare the two groups of puzzle pieces—the information in this thread and these links.

I looked over the websites you linked and while some of it was okay, overall it appeared like a bunch of wackos.

The Fatima movement website is run by open sedevacantists who actually believe that Sister Lucia was switched for an imposter at some point after 1960 (e.g. right around the time of VCII).

There's an old saying that when the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. This group WANTS there to be an evil conspiracy among the post-VCII popes, so they make everything fit into their theory. But everything is predicated upon the assumption that every pope in the last fifty years is actually an anti-pope, without this assumption everything else collapses.

Interesting.

Thanks for your commentary.

I do recall some years ago . . . don’t recall the site. Probably a similar one . . .

the before and after “the switch” pics of Lucia were very different. Couldn’t have been the same woman, imho.

from the second link you posted

Obeying the command of Our Lady, Pope John Paul II takes the stone from Rome to Fatima. Picture of the Pope handing a box to another .

Do you have any idea what stone they are talking about ?
Do the ROman Catholics have some stone as some kind of relic ?

I don’t know.

Supposedly the mandate was the corner stone.

What Pope Benedict Fears

In an article published on the internet in three parts beginning on May 21 and concluding on June 22, the writer Antonio Margheriti Mastino presents what he says are the words and thoughts of Spanish Cardinal Antonio Canizares Llovera, currently the Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship in the Vatican.

Among the many interesting statements made in this report, one stands out: the statement that Pope Benedict, who is known to regard Canizares with favor, told Canizares personally meeting that he (Benedict) has three great fears:

(1) The secularization within the Church;

(2) The peaceful invasion of Europe by Islam;

(3) The ever-greater control -- and the next words are within quotation marks, meaning Margheriti Mastino is presenting these words as an exact quotation of what Cardinal Canizares said to him -- "of freemasonry on the cultural level and of the centers of power of the European Union."

until I see the church do more than talk and whine I will not be a Catholic.

Same here. Moral relativism has destroyed the Church. The 2008 election was the last straw for me. Instead of informing its members about Obama's fanatical obsession with abortion, his unconscienable votes against protecting abortion survivors, priests held vigils to ask God to help their flock to do the right thing when they cast their vote. The problem was that they didn't know the right thing, because the priests refused to TELL them the truth about Obama. They failed their parishioners, and ultimately, the entire nation, because millions of Catholics had absolutely no guidance. For that, I will never forgive the Church. In refusing to do its duty and take a stand, it helped put this godless man in office.

Thanks for your kind reply.

Sounds encouraging.

Though a little . . . concerning as well . . . if HE IS concerned at his level . . .

imagine how problematic things must be.

Well, it is now six and a half hours PAST the deadline given by these nutjobs, I've checked the news and there is no remarkable news coming out of Portugal or anywhere else in the world regarding the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The members of this Fatima movement website ARE NOT Catholic. The are anti-Catholic, anti-Protestant, anti-Semitic and flat out crazy.

What Pope John Paul II took to Fatima was one of the bullets that the doctor's removed from him thirty years ago after the Soviets tried to assassinate him for taking a stand against communism.
