Smaller government and Romneycare are wholly incompatible concepts. A million miles apart. Saying the opposite will not make it so.

If he wanted to see smaller government, why did he push for that so-called health care program in Massachusetts? Didn’t that create an even larger bureaucracy?
To: JPG
If he actually were smart, he would change parties, and run as a more convincing moderate democrat. There would be no immediate gain, but he could posture about picking up the pieces of the Democrat party after 2012.
But . . . he is not truly rational. He just plays it on TV.

Romney has three different positions on every issue. Some combination is bound to line up with the Tea Party.

He believes the Climate Change hoax and he’s the Daddy of RomenyCare/ObamaCare. Yeah, right, The Tea Party can’t wait for another McFlame RINO loser.

They want to see smaller government. So do I.2008 Republican Presidential Debate, in response to Fred Thompson - in fact, so excited he interrupted Fred Thompson, and said 'I like [government] mandates. [Government] mandates work!'
There you go, either he lied then, or he is lying now. Don't much care, anyone with that opinion in a GOP forum can go jump off a cliff for all I care.

I think I line up pretty well with the Tea Party, he saidActually I think he's pretty close to being right.
Think of it like compass. Tea Party is due North (zero degrees), and mittens is at about 185 degrees. Almost a straight line. Slightly to his left at 180 degrees are BO, Hillary and the other progressives.
