It's a shame Chrysler took the 'Obama stash.' I've been driving/owning Jeep products for 20+ years now, but will never buy a new one again. Once my current GCL dies, I'll be forced to look elsewhere.

Don’t worry. Only Wranglers and FSJs are real Jeeps (and the Willys vehicles).

Yep - I have been a Dodge/Chrysler fan for a long time. My first pickup truck was a Dodge Ram. I followed that with a newer Ram. We have owned a couple of other Dodge/Chrysler vehicles over the years and had good service from them all.

A year and a half ago, when I decided it was time to shop for a new truck - I shopped all the major names: Ford, Dodge, GMC/Chevy...

I found some good deals on Chevy trucks... but made it clear to every salesman that I just couldn’t get beyond them being “owned” by Obama and the Federal Government.

I looked at the Dodge dealerships - and they too had some pretty ok deals... but I still just couldn’t get beyond the government hand (and the deals were not good enough to carry me beyond my aversion based on the bailout).

I got real serious about Ford’s F150, found a truck I liked, and by my calculations, the incentives plus other “deals” floating at the time, I should have been able to get the “deal” I wanted... but alas - dealerships (stealerships?) just woudn’t make the deal and wanted to skin me...

Just when I was about to ditch my search for a while - I decided to pull in the local Nissan dealership... and I found my truck... a 2009 Titan Crew (was at the end of 2009, so they had huge incentives on the last couple they had). Got not only the deal I wanted, but actually did better than I expected. The truck has had a couple of issues - all of which were warranty/recall fixed. My only enduring complaint - gas milage is killing me (overall average just over 14mpg. Highway mpg is about 17... and this is with driving within the speed limits, proper tire inflation and maintenance, etc.). Ugh.
