that he wanted to show the world that our ugly past of slavery and racism is, well, in the past and that we’ve got no problems electing a black man to run the greatest country in the world. And I think if others were honest, they would admit the same.

Unfortunately for our country masses of people wanted to get on that bandwagon. No thought about how the zero guy would run and ruin America, and that Zero had absolutely no administrative experience, and had a Marxist/socialist agenda. People who bought into the "racist" guilt just wanted to "feel good" about riding themselves of being uncomfortable for something that they never should have felt bad about anyway.

I bet the majority of blacks here never had ancestors who were slaves. Blacks in droves have been coming here for almost a century voluntarily from Africa and various islands, and they nor their children ever had to suffer slavery. The debt was paid to the slaves when white soldiers fought and died in the Civil War.

For crying out loud, how long do white Americans have to pay for a handful of slave owners who used them wrongly? It is not as though the whole country had slaves. I am sick of this tired, old complaint that has blossomed into creating a standard of "entitlement" among people who are now much better off than any of their relatives in Africa where suffering is the norm and far worse than slavery ever was in America.

You’re the first person that has written my thoughts down regarding the slave issue in such an exact way.

I’ve done little research on the subject but for years I always felt that there were only “a handful” of slave owners. The way the issue is presented though you would think every white man in the country owned slaves; which is ridiculous. Another part of the slave issue that rarely gets mentioned is the fact that their own people in Africa rounded them up and sold them. I really wish I could find a FACT based account on slavery with actual numbers and statistics.

As far as the dimwits that voted because of ‘guilt’ that thought process never even occurred to me what so ever. It’s a foreign concept to me and not in my wildest dreams did I think people voted that way; but I’ve heard and read so many accounts of it that it must be true. Even my DIL told me just last week that friends of theirs that were in college at the time, said that is why they voted for the marxist. BTW those kids were homeschooled and conservative.
