Here is an, as of yet, unconfirmed picture of the deceased Osama bin Laden. It is exactly how newspapers and our sources have described it: gruesome... I will give some space between the picture and words so that you do not accidentally see the picture if you do not want to.
It is exactly how CNN reported the picture would look like:
"Photos of OBLs body at a hanger after he was brought back to Afghanistan. This is the most recognizable with a clear picture of his face. The picture is gruesome because he has a massive open head wound across both eyes. It’s very bloody and gory."

Also, the picture reveals that most of the damage was done above the man in the picture's left eye. Further, the man looks precisely like bin Laden.

I think what you are referring to is the calvarium. The scalp is torn front to back but the calvarium seems in tact. I am sure the exit wound of the projectile in to occipital region is.....generous, and with gray matter.
His yolk looks scrambled.
I would say fake. But in truth, it looks a bit better than any photo of Obama ;-)

The one on the left is the one from this thread. The one on the right is the one from LiveLeak. There are some differences there ... hand positions, tilt of the head. I say the jury's still out on this one.

But now that I look at it more closely, looks like perhaps the one on the right is an older picture of some other victim and the one on the left as been doctored with OBL’s mouth. I say “Photoshopped” and that’s my final answer.
Probably a couple of doors down from the Kennedy suite.
