The following editorial appeared in the Los Angeles Times on Thursday, April 28:

ENOUGH OF 'BIRTHER' BALONEY

We share President Obama's exasperation about the persistent rumor that he wasn't born in the United States, and we hope his release of his long-form birth certificate Wednesday will disabuse many Americans of their belief in this preposterous urban legend. But we're under no illusion - and neither is Obama - that the rumor will be entirely quelled. "I know that there's going to be a segment of people for which, no matter what we put out, this issue will not be put to rest," the president said at an extraordinary briefing.

That "segment" may turn out to be sizable. A shocking number of Americans give credence to the utterly unfounded notion that the president was born outside the United States - in Kenya, by some accounts - and smuggled into Hawaii, where his birth documents were fabricated. A CBS/New York Times poll released this month found that a quarter of all Americans think Obama was not born in the United States. Among Republicans and "tea party" supporters, the figure was 45 percent.

Explanations abound for the traction this conspiracy theory has achieved (the conspiracy consists of supposed efforts by the White House to conceal the "facts"). Obama's exotic background, his schooling abroad, the middle name Hussein and, yes, his race all contribute to the perception among some Americans that the president is "other." Marry that to a generic interest in conspiracies, economic anxiety that encourages such beliefs and the changing demographics of the country and you have the "birther" view of reality....

All that’s been proven so far is that the document released yesterday is a computer-generated document, not an actual scan of a piece of paper (hence the presence of layers, etc).

It doesn’t establish the veracity of any information in the docuument itself.

Obama is NOT a ‘natural born citizen’ even if he was born in from of the C-SPAN cameras in the Capitol rotunda. The 14th Amendment would make him a citizen in that case, but NOT a ‘natural born citizen’.

This does not even address the issue of possible Indonesian citizenship.

Of course, the real issue is that he, his Administration, the Federal Reserve and Congress are doing all they can to destroy this country.

And exactly whose fault was that? WHO WAS IT that delayed for THREE YEARS, hiring lawyers to intimidate people who filed lawsuits seeking to have his verification of eligibility released, and for THREE LONG YEARS labeled ridiculed anyone who dared to ask the simple question: Is this man actually, really, qualified to be President?

I consider myself a birther. I don't fully trust this new document, and in any event, the data on the document convinces me that he is not an NBC and I say he is not eligible to be president.

However, in your list of people trying to destroy the country, you didn't mention the US Supreme Court. I am convinced that the Court would declare the term "Natural Born Citizen" to be essentially meaningless and declare that Obama has every right to be president.
They don't want any trouble. They will stand by while the crimes continue.

At least anti-American liberals on the far left are consistent. They think "shall not be infringed" is meaningless, just like they think "Natural Born Citizen" is meaningless. The Living Constitution they see is a lot like living DNA, with long strings of nonsense letters scattered at random and carrying no meaningful information at all.

Here’s a thought to chew on.

baraq’s family claims he was born in Kenya. There is a bc for him floating around that looks legit. But at the same time, he claims he was born in Hawaii and there is a colb as his proof.
Now since he has all of his life records hidden it may be that he has both of these birth records in order to pull a con on the US systems throughout his life.
If he could claim that he was a foreign national, he could get all kinds of scholorships at the nose in the air colleges, but use the Hawaii document to claim all the privilages of being a US citizen.

But since his daddy is barack obama sr, then he is not qualified. Or is that his actual daddy.

This guy has created a life story that is convoluted as can be with a protective media covering for him at every turn.

None of us can get away with such a con, so that is why this will not go away.

meanwhile, real or not... it claims his father was kenyan at the time of his birth. this shows his parents had allegiances with foreign countries.
