Abusers can always be handled on a case-by-case basis.

That is exactly how we are handling it. Space is not the issue. Blogs are not the issue.

EXCERPTING blogs with the intent to profit from Free Republic is the issue.

Please use this post to come up to speed on the issues so that you understand it more clearly. Your points are exactly in line with ours. We are doing what you suggest for reasons that you don't seem to appreciate yet.

If you wish I can post a very long post in Jim Robinson's own words that explains the whole thing. But maybe that isn't necessary at this point.

How will we ever handle the intellectual complexity, the emotional challenge, the grammatical innuendo? The singing of songs? The posting of humorous images? The civil discourse of it all?

The latest case being the brilliant blogger who gave us the wonderfully snarky “Thanks Obama!” Post-It Note campaign.

That was brilliant, useful, inspired and much appreciated.

That blogger _gave something back_ instead of just pasting an excerpt *here* to lead people off of FR to *elsewhere* for hits and then running off to do the same on some other thread.

That's a good point. We didn't harass that blogger although it was clearly "pimp" behavior. It was ultimately determined to be allowable because it was valuable to FR.

I know of quite a few instances where the "pimp" didn't know the rules, happily posted (and continues to post) full text and we have happy FReepers and happy bloggers.

Only the jerks get the treatment. That guy was a supreme jerk IIRC.
