Projecting Trump’s business decisions into the political realm misses the point

Having anyone look search a professional entrepreneur’s background for political stability is farcical at best.

Of course Donald Trump has said and done contradictory things, especially when it comes to political donations! His business persona and fiduciary responsibility made him go with whatever he needed at the time to get the job done, or exhibit the image he needed, when necessary.

He has been attacked for using “Eminent Domain” laws to his advantage. He is a businessman, and has every right to use available tools like the Kelo decision given to him by the Supreme Court. Argue with those who forced “Kelo” on us not those who use their decision legally.

Trump has done quite well for himself within the Capitalist system. According to Forbes, Trump’s wealth was valued at $2.7 Billion in March 2011. He has created many jobs, and his enterprises have generated untold millions in tax revenues.

Can Trump make decisions? Sure.

Does he love and respect America? Absolutely.

Unlike Barack Obama, nowhere can we find evidence that Trump has repeatedly, or ever, complained about the constraints of the Constitution, and the shortcomings of our forefathers’ creation.

Unlike Barack Obama, Trump has never gone out of his way to praise Communist countries run on slave labor, implying America should be more like them.

To the contrary Trump asks inconvenient questions about why Europe or China should have the fastest trains, or the newest factories manufacturing clean energy products aren’t being built in America.

Unlike Obama, Trump doesn’t bemoan the fact he isn’t president of a Communist country, because it would be easier to get things done, -without free citizens. ‘No one is scrutinizing Hu Jintao’s words in Tahrir Square’” not if they want to live! We have never seen a political Donald Trump….

So many of those who attack Trump make believe there is no difference between how a political campaign is run and how a government is run. They need only look at the last several presidents to see the differences. Trump is now in campaign mode. He is not a stupid man (he leaves that slot empty to let others fill it)he understands he can not say and act the same way when president as he speaks and acts now.

In the current campaign Trump is not running against Obama. He is running against all the other Republicans contenders for the nomination.

Unlike Barack Obama, bla bla bla.
Unlike Barack Obama, bla bla bla

But if it makes you feel better, Trump is definitively not as bad as Obama.

Some have moved beyond hero worship right into messiah worship.

I’ve been told both that God should rebuke me for speaking the truth and that Trump is doing God’s work.

Trump is an unethical opportunist. He has files for bankruptcy four times to screw his creditors out of what he rightfully owed them.

Like Ted Turner, Trump has done well, but came from money. In fact, Trump took over his father’s real estate development company.

The President is NOT the “boss of the country”

In a corporation, although the CEO answers to a board (congress), the board does not prepare the budget, micromanage policy, and try to steal the limelight. Neither is there a review panel (judiciary) second-guessing the actions after they have been made.

In short, businesses (generally) work together to advance the goals of the business and the supremacy of the CEO is typically accepted.

Ah. So any decisions made in a BUSINESS environment can have no bearing on determining how someone will conduct themselves in a political environment.

By that standard, I should be able to do anything in any compartment of my life and never be called to account by any other part of my life, because everything is separate.

So, Trump can give a pathetic excuse for a human being like Rahm Emanuel money and support all manner of people who think the government should run healthcare (and we know who they are, don’t we?) but we should disregard all that because it was “business”?

We should just listen to what he says in the last month to determine his values? We should just BELIEVE what he spouts and elevate this person as some kind of alternative?

Because it was BUSINESS?

I don’t always succeed, but I try to conduct my affairs with a degree of consistency because I believe words and deeds should be in synchronization with each other. I don’t like to deal with people who aren’t honest and straightforward, and if someone changes from one thing to another because it is expedient, I don’t want to deal with them and have to depend on them.

This is asinine.

I can only shake my head at this, because you aren’t alone in this. You have plenty of enthusiastic company.

Remember this: If Trump can just remove and replace his persona and value system like a cheesy sports jacket or a toupee, just as fast as he removed his “business values” jacket and put on a “America First” jacket, he can just as easily remove THAT and put something else on.
