A Seattle school in all of its political correctness now has renamed our Easter eggs with the offensive term of Spring Spheres. Candy canes sporting the red color of Christs blood and the green of the Christian Christmas tress have all but been banned from our schools.
As I stood to hear the Palm Sunday Sermon read, an account of Our Lords Passion and Death on the cross, I started to become very angry and very hurt. HOW DARE THEY? How dare they take away our Christmas and Easter holidays?
And here I am at a keyboard in a world this 75 year old could not even fathom when I was allowed to sing Christmas carols in my grade school. Just this week, my daughter called and after two long, very long phone calls from her in one week, she said at the end, Mom, Im afraid. She and her husband are rearing four boys at home and have another away at the Illinois University I attended.
How dare our Liberal in Chief President order a Georgetown, a putative Catholic university to cover its crucifix before he would deign to speak for them ? How dare his pastor of 20 years call out from his own pulpit to damn America in the most blasphemous of oaths? How dare Michelle Obama tell a campaign audience she had never been proud of America until Barack?
Just think of how they insulted our veterans, let alone us! Think of our Revolutionary War fighters, American patriots that my English class could not even identify because their public school teachers had never told them about the sacrifices these Yankees made.
It is now doubtful those students could tell us anything about our Civil War

When Moshe Rabbeinu (Moses) led Jews out of Egypt there were around 30,000 Egyptian gods. When ancient Rome was around they had about 30,000 gods that had been assimilated by the conquest of lands that composed the ancient Roman Empire.
Constantine couldn’t beat the rising fans of Christianity into submission as Rome crumbled so he co-opted the movement and de-Judaised it by murdering Jews who followed the teachings Rabbi Joshua (aka Jesus).
Constantine did get the pagans down to three gods from the 30,000 high and spread the very basic Jewish teachings that are the foundation for Western life but the pagan festivals have reasserted themselves into America which the Christian founders were trying to get away from in the old country. And as the West falls it continues to slip more and more back into paganism.
“You are quite incorrect. I did not post on a thread celebrating the Christ - I have more courtesy and regard for other’s religious views than to do so. I posted on a thread which was taking offense to the renaming of “Easter Eggs” to “Spring Spheres”. Well if the egg is the identity, let’s really understand the origin.”
You take the cake. You are a liar.
Your entire post is an attack on Easter, not spring spheres.
Anybody can read your post and it is more than obvious what you say.
“Constantine couldnt beat the rising fans of Christianity into submission as Rome crumbled so he co-opted the movement and de-Judaised it by murdering Jews who followed the teachings of Jesus.”
Actually Constantine had a vision and he became Christian.
“he co-opted the movement”
Nope, Christianity’s central focus exists now as it existed then. Jesus Christ died for our sins and was resurrected.
“de-Judaised it by murdering Jews who followed the teachings of Jesus.”
Wrong again. Many Jews followed Jesus and they continued to do so.
From what I have read the more Constantine persecuted the early Christians the stronger their numbers became. At some point I think he realized it was a losing battle that he would never win and suddenly he found religion! That kept him in power which was a win for him and it dropped the persecution for the Christians which was a win for them.
How many of the early church fathers were Jewish from 312 onward?
"It is just as cowardly to judge an absent person as it is wicked to strike a defenseless one. Only the ignorant and narrow-minded gossip, for they speak of persons instead of things."
- Lawrence G. Lovasik
Constantine was never an enthusiastic persecuter, if he ever enforced the laws against Christians at all in the areas he controlled.
What we forget is that Constantine grew up and came to power is a world of nearly constant civil war. The most aggressive persecuters were also Constantine’s political and military opponents, so more or less by default he became the Christians’ patron and protector. The enemy of my enemy and all that.
Weak. Like your poorly veiled attack.
I love you guys who mock and attack and then cry like an infant when somebody responds.
Waggghhh !
Your question regarding how many Christians were Jewish in 312....Well, let’s just say that by that time, any Jewish people who maintained Christianity...were Christianized at that point. So, kind of impossible to answer that and I don’t think Eusebius commented on this.
Regarding Constantine, it’s up for debate as to whether he converted slowly, his mother was of Christian influence, or “all of a sudden”. It’s likely a combination of the two.
Christianity grew and prospered due to Constantine. He was a great force for allowing Christianity to spread and at the same time, greatly reduced pagan influences.
Constantine was a great enforcer of doctrine in Christianity, but deferred to the Bishops for the formulation of Doctrine.
