With the latest nuclear scare in Japan, many new and old questions have arisen on how we go forward as a country in terms of satisfying our energy needs. Every energy alternative has risks and drawbacks, but the solution cannot be to use less. This type of choice restricts the growth rate of our economy, and dooms our country’s future to second tier status. Energy is literally the fuel that runs an economy and without cheap and accessible energy, advancement in all fields of human endeavor are restrained. Adult decisions need to be made to assure us that we and our children have of a positive future.
