Sorry, you're wrong, and this is exactly kind of misinformation I'm talking about. I went to the Texas website, and in two minutes I was able to pull up their list of acceptable ID and it said:
"Original or certified copy of a birth certificate issued by the appropriate State Department of Vital Statistics."
Obama's "short-form" is a certified copy issued by the Department of Vital Statistics in Hawaii and could be used to apply for a drivers license in the State of Texas.
"Original or certified copy of a birth certificate issued by the appropriate State Department of Vital Statistics."
That statement doesn't say that a Certification of Live Birth is acceptable proof of identity. It says, "birth certificate". I don't care where you go in this country, a "birth certificate" is understood to be a LFBC.
A short form is not a birth certificate. It's a certification that you were born. That is all it is.
I also resent you characterizing my previous remarks as "misinformation". I related my personal experience with obtaining a Texas driver's license from the Texas DOT, with NO embellishment or exaggeration.
See Swampsniper’s post number 144, for yet another testimony of what most Americans have to go through to conduct the simplest transactions with their state governments.
I believe he’s in Florida.
