Obama, himself, “kills the Dreams narrative,” when he places an introduction/forward in the second edition of the book that ADMITS that the entire story is nothing more than a fable. FICTIONALIZED “history”. He says they are composite characters. He says the timeline is wrong. He says the conversations are invented (or recreated). How much more does it take than an admission from the alleged author to kill the entire narrative? Somebody (the publisher? his lawyer? himself?) likely knew that the book was fiction, thus the disclaimer, which most media sources fail to mention.

The admition of fiction is to cover his *** when more truth comes out. Because the Zero team including Ayers figured the myth would likely spring some holes sooner or later.

I agree that the Dreams disclaimer totally undermines the reliability of Dreams. This is why the Dreams narrative, dialog and event framing cannot be considered as a source for primary, as opposed to secondary research.

But the Dreams disclaimer, IMO, doesn't kill specific parts of the Dreams narrative because the disclaimer doesn't tell you which parts are reality based and which are not. It is not ALL fiction.

Obama was marketed as a branded product to the voters, like all presidential candidates, and the Dreams narrative was a key marketing “differentiator” for the Obama product, distinguishing him as exotic in an admirable, inclusive, world citizen way from other mostly boring white males.

The American public was introduced to the Dreams narrative at the 2004 Convention where the meeting of his parents was transformed from the sordid facts.
Obama’s parents are portrayed as a loving couple who have common, noble American inspired hopes and dreams for their son.

The a married foreign exchange student jumps a freshman girl then dishonestly marries her bigmaously, then they spent at most weeks together as a couple sharing American hopes and dreams because SADO was in Seattle from soon after the birth until BHO Sr. left Hawaii.

IMO, the discovery and corroboration of the SADO in Seattle narrative as well as the Kezia with two children back in Kenya narrative together with the dishonest bigamous non-Muslim marriage narrative all DESTROY Obama’s first impression Dreams narrative introduction to the voters:

“But my grandfather had larger dreams for his son. Through hard work and perseverance my father got a scholarship to study in a magical place, America, that shone as a beacon of freedom and opportunity to so many who had come before.

“While studying here, my father met my mother. She was born in a town on the other side of the world, in Kansas. Her father worked on oil rigs and farms through most of the Depression. The day after Pearl Harbor my grandfather signed up for duty; joined Patton’s army, marched across Europe. Back home, my grandmother raised a baby and went to work on a bomber assembly line. After the war, they studied on the G.I. Bill, bought a house through F.H.A., and later moved west all the way to Hawaii in search of opportunity.

“And they, too, had big dreams for their daughter. A common dream, born of two continents.

“My parents shared not only an improbable love, they shared an abiding faith in the possibilities of this nation. They would give me an African name, Barack, or ”blessed,” believing that in a tolerant America your name is no barrier to success. They imagined — They imagined me going to the best schools in the land, even though they weren’t rich, because in a generous America you don’t have to be rich to achieve your potential.”

“They're both passed away now. And yet, I know that on this night they look down on me with great pride.”

The disclaimer is a CYA. Bill Clinton got it right...he said it was nothing but a fairytale, remember?

THEY KNOW.
