Well it has been a while since I have commented on this board, I hate just repeating what others have said, and this might still be the case, but I will go ahead and lay out my case.
First we have no true idea what this "conflict" is about, heck we're calling it everything except a war.
Our generals have no clue who is in charge, much less what the mission is.
We have differing politicians saying differing opinions on what the strategy is and what the goals are, and our leader, I say this with no hesitation, because he is in fact, if not in action, the leader of the free world, cannot decide what he wants.
We have no idea how to effectively accomplish our stated goals, when they don't change from hour to hour, and which command structure is in charge of enforcing these goals.
Our military is left in the dark about what the mission is and how to best accomplish it. What are the standards for engaging the enemy and what are the rules of war as it pertains to "non-combatants"? What are the targets? What are the acceptable weapons/tools/personnel?
And finally we are dealing with an ally whom is not exactly a white hat, and has in some ways aliened themselves with our greater enemy, al-Qaeda.
So no true good guy and one batch (maybe two) of really bad guys, seems like we have been here before. ,
But there’s a light at the end of the tunnel-—Obama’s failed re-election bid.
Cr@p, that should be Libya.
Libya is no Vietnam. It is worth even less.
This’ll be over in 6 weeks if not 6 days. Ghaddafi will be gone. Not quite Vietnam.
Yeah, all the places it says ‘we’, should say Obama.
(Thisll be over in 6 weeks if not 6 days. Ghaddafi will be gone. Not quite Vietnam)
What do you base that assesment on?
The only similarities between the current conflicts and Viet Nam is all the political interference, interference that will guarantee we will come out losers.
He is there to destroy America and the US military and he is succeeding. All three wars are chicken sh*t now to get our soldiers killed and to bankrupt America. If you shoot back you can go to Ft. Leavenworth, KS.
Wake up sheep and turn off Obama TV. Stop thinking Fox Al Waleed is your friend. By watching O TV - you support him sheeple.
Well, a poorly armed rebellion was able to fight and win right up to the main city. The tools used to drive back that rebellion are being destroyed because the “coalition” now has complete control of the skies and are taking out the tanks and artillery.
Secondly, there’s not a lot of foliage to hide under and there’s not a complex network of underground tunnels to hide in.
Third, the only reason we let this fool continue ruling this 3rd world country was the opposite would be a islamic country.
Fourth, this tool was unprepared for a major internal dissent nor a external threat such as the U.S. wanting him gone. See reason #3.
Yer fired.....
;-)
Most made the same claim about the USA civil war.
And most other civil wars as well.
You might be right if this was about Libya...
Egypt turned out to be more like Iran.
Maybe Libya will be like that too
This isn’t a country where most of the people have some sort of stake in it’s continued state. Most want Ghaddafi gone. They have nothing to lose. zero will let this linger and then bring in troops, mostly ours, and knock Ghadaffi out. He’ll probably even get the UN to war crime him to keep his pathetic victory in the news.
Earlier today I went postal over “Lybia”
