Amazing!…Tea Party Brings in 15,000 Protesters to Madison w/ 24 Hour Notice Embarrassing Left

THOUSANDS of Tea Party Patriots turned out today in Madison, Wisconsin, in support of Republican Governor Scott Walker and his plans to correct the state’s financial future. It was an amazing turnout considering the Saturday rally was only announced on Friday morning. Oh… And we paid our own way.

The tea party patriots filled the state capital grounds from the steps to the street over 100 yards back. There were so many Walker supporters there that you couldn’t here the speakers from the stage in the back of the crowd.

The AP today estimated that 70,000 protesters turned out in Madison today. If that number is accurate then at least 15,000 were Walker supporters. This was a huge embarrassment to the left.

It was a HUGE success.

I do agree with that in priciple, public employees should not strike....NY state has the Taylor law which can be brought to bear on vital public employees attempting to strike to force them back to the bargaining table. On the other hand the state and localities of the state are supposed to BARGAIN with the employees and mediation set up as necessary. The fine is 2 days pay for evey day out on strike should the judge so invoke the rule and I remember a teachers strike in the late 70’s in which many a striking teacher had a severe financial hurt put on them. They eventually reached a settlement and much of the fines were rescinded but it was a tough law that passed all sorts of muster in the state courts.

I was there and it was great! But I’m pretty sure our numbers were not over 1500. The reason it seemed larger is the LL Bean hippies kept crossing the lines to throw the communist manifesto at us.

I do! Public employees should not be allowed to form unions, period!

"Collective bargaining is not what its name indicates. In fact, it means exactly the opposite of what you'd guess. Collective bargaining refers to the obligation of an employer to recognize the elected representatives of a group of workers and his further obligation to negotiate with those representatives. This last part is what makes 'collective bargaining' extortion.

"Under collective bargaining laws, employers have to recognize an elected union and have to negotiate with them.

"Imagine if the tables were turned and employers had the right to 'employer bargaining', under which the employer could demand whatever pay reductions or workday increases he wanted, the employees had to negotiate with the employer, and employees couldn't quit!

Collective bargaining is what is killing the budget. The unions tell the company how many workers it takes to change a light bulb. How much sick time they get, how many breakes they get and who much they have to pay for their pensions, how many vacation days they get, and the tax payer pays for it all....The governor wants them to only have collective bargaining for salary. The unions run the government and we pay for it...

They do not lose all of their collective bargaining. They will keep their bargaining ability for wages, but they will not be able to negotiate for greater benefits. And their wages will not go over the rate of inflation unless it’s agreed to by referendum. There’s nothing unreasonable about that.
