Palin is Running, and She’ll Get Creamed
The Constitution Club ^ | 02-12-11 | Dave the Sage

It does appear that former governor and GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah “you betcha” Palin will be throwing her beauty pageant sash into the presidential ring. She has added veteran Republican strategist Michael Glassner to serve as chief-of-staff for her political action committee, Sarah PAC, and steer her political operation. For the political insiders this is the strongest indication yet that Sarah Palin is seriously laying the groundwork for a serious bid for the white house. Unfortunately, she is probably the most disastrous of the current crop of possible GOP hopefuls and in my humble opinion would stand absolutely no chance in the general election. I will even venture to say that I don’t think she’ll make it out of the primaries. She is mistaking the general support the Right gives her as a person of character and cheerleader Tea Party as political support for a presidential bid. I submit to you the two are not the same and she will find this out the hard way. And if by some miracle she were to get the nod to lead the Republican party into the next general election we will witness a most embarrassing of electoral trouncings since Mondale got crushed by Reagan.

I defend Palin vigorously from the hatred and smears from the Left and admire her commitment to what is right and true. For the most part I share her politics, values, and ideology. And I think she makes a great fundraiser and cheerleader for the Right in general and the Tea Party in particular. But she had her chance for glory and success on the national stage and frankly blew it.

"including Huckabee, Romney, and Newt"

If it's between Palin and one of those clowns I'm voting Palin.

I COULD vote for Huckabee or Newt in the general while holding my nose, but I would rot in the gutters of hell before voting for a man as unprincipled and wrong on the issues as Romney.

Like it or not, they were very accurate in 2010. Palin polls horribly everywhere. If she is the savior that many claim, why is this the case? She has almost universal name-recognition, so something is causing this.

Personally, I don’t think she’ll ever be able to get rid of the “quitter” label. Whether we like it or not, the media has succeeded in defining her.

I hate the media, but the plain fact is that there are more people out there who are swayed by it than most here like to admit. Those people vote. Nothing will change that.

To head off any nonsense, Yes, the media hated Reagan too, and did everything that they could to smear him... but Reagan couldn’t be successfully labeled by the media because of his tremendous skill, intellect, and oratory ability. He had a unique ability to bypass the media and go right to the people. Like it or not, Palin is not Reagan in this regard. Pretending that she is won’t change that fact.

Moreover... Reagan never quit. Ever. No matter how tough things got, he never, ever, even entertained the thought of quitting.

Let me make a prediction to “Dave The Sage”

If Palin runs and that’s an if. She will clean the clocks in primary debates with these other midgets and cowards. She will mop the floor.

And that’s when the American people will begin to change their opinion of her, not just many conservatives.

So go ahead and write your hit pieces on behalf of your masters because if she runs, she will make mince-meat of the others in primary debates. She will give them what she gave Rick Santorum, a smackdown.

it's one of the rare instances in the MSM being successful in ruining somebody for no reason at all.

Are you serious? They make and break all the time - that's their deal. Why do you think so many fawn all over them? They took a nobody w/no credentials and kept hammering away until they got enough sheep to listen. That's what they do - so anyone still listening to the liberal MSM are true retards, IMO. The result is garbage in, garbage out.

They have been unsuccessful with Palin, they know it, why don't you.

If she's such a deadbeat - they certainly spend a lot of time and money chasing her, listening to her every words and coming back w/negative articles about her daily for two years. It's not about if she runs or not, or if she wins or not - the point is - she is the ONLY one that they (libs and rino's) don't want in the race for their own reasons.

And she is the only one capable (because that's her intent) of bringing America back to a least a recognizable country of 'we the people'. It's about it's citizens, not the big gov't elite mindset. She has a servant's heart for her country.

I agree too. I am as conservative as they come, but realize that someone like Ms. Palin with a negatives near 60% with independents is not going to be a serious challenge to the punk socialist president.

Nothing will change that.

Wrong. If she runs and nobody knows yet. But if she does, she will clean clocks in primary debates. These cowards, who are now hiding behind fake name hit piece writers, will have to debate in primaries. That is when the rubber will start meeting the road.

Public Policy Polling?

Are you serious?

They aren't exactly impartial or reliable. They are Kos's paid pollster.

Come back with Gallup, Pew, or Rassmusen.

“Avoidable disasters because they were spurned by the elitist GOP establishment. Those candidates were fine. The Republican party insiders were the spoilers. Both of you seem to side with the elitists.”

Wrong. Ken Buck destroyed himself. I live in Colorado and gave big bucks to Buck, did work for him, and met him three times. As Weld County DA, he worked and lived just about 30 minutes from where I live. Buck was arrogant, and simply could not keep his mouth shut. Would not stay on message. Wouldn’t listen to the campaign professionals. Thought he was smarter than the reporters who repeatedly tricked him into saying stupid and divisive things he should not have said. Buck was a horrible candidate. Bennett, who wasn’t well liked, just sat back and watched Buck self-destruct. We should have had this seat but selected a very poor candidate.

I’m not an elitist, but I’m a realist and I want conservative candidates that will win elections. It’s not good enough to just pass some litmus test. You need to be conservative and be able to win. I don’t care how conservative you are if you can’t win an election.

"Don’t you know the media will try to destroy ANY CANDIDATE WE PICK ?? Come on man.."

Of course they will, but what if they focus all their hate on the wrong one until it's too late?

“The reality that Palin is poor presidential material does not make one less of a conservative.”

The article you posted is of very poor quality. It contains no analysis, only clumsy invective. It isn’t quite ferociously illiterate, but it is poor enough that you can tell the author, a bill collector, has little facility with the spoken or written word other than demand letters directed to deadbeats.

Are you the author of this tripe? Or do you just have poor judgment in posting it? Inquiring minds want to know.

Wish it weren’t so, but Palin is unelectable. This is not 1980 where there was still a semblance of limitation to the information superhighway and Reagan had the super-charisma that could neutralize the press.

Palin would make a great chief of staff. She knows how to articulate an agenda.

That’s a logical fallacy. Like em or hate em, PPP was very accurate during the 2010 election cycle.

Rasmussen is the gold standard in polling, and Rasmussen has Palin polling far worse than virtually every other GOP Candidate:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2012/romney_huckabee_even_with_obama_other_gop_hopefuls_trail

Why?

Is Rasmussen part of the conspiracy to get Palin?
