I don't see the point of all of this tea leaf reading about the AZ shooter's motive. The man is alive and taken into custody.
If he is who we think he is, he will go ballistic if an interviewer asks him if devotion to Sarah Palin and her message led him to shoot the congressman and the judge.
I suspect that a string of f bombs would stream from his mouth ... case closed.
Release his computer files. They will tell the story. Although with the resources every lib media organization has probably used up trying to find a Right Wing connection there is none. Must not exist.
But in the end, “why” doesn’t make a difference, because there is no “why” that can excuse the act. Just put him in prison for the rest of his life and forget about him.
And then the Pima County Sheriff would turn to everyone else in the room and say, “Erase that disk. What you just heard is never to leave this room, understood?”
But we might learn why he thinks yellow makes him sad (and let him explain as those drugs race through his veins for his final pulse)...
I suspect that the shooter was already mentally ill when he possibly experienced oxygen deprivation during an alcohol overdose in ‘06 that put some brain damage icing on his mental illness cake.
“Damage to the Broca’s area and the Wernicke’s area of the brain (left side) typically causes problems with speech and language. Damage to the right side of the brain may interfere with the ability to express emotions or interpret what one sees.”
This sounds a lot like what some of his YouTube ramblings were about, why he thought other people were illiterate or stupid—he had difficulty processing what they were saying.
In any event, I suspect that he will or already has talked to a psychiatrist, and if this is the case, such symptoms would be red flags for diagnosis.
It’s a good question whether they would put him in a general prison population, or if he would make the elite crew at the Arizona State Hospital (for the insane). Neither are particularly pleasant.
Now, now, you know that getting the answer would ruin their fun.
