More Tea Party Violence?
The American Thinker Blog ^ | January 08, 2011 | Jack Cashill

Posted on 01/09/2011 2:39:58 AM PST by Scanian

Before anyone had publicly identified the shooter of Arizona Congreswoman Gabrielle Giffords, the wire services were busily and shamelessly trying to establish a link between the violence and the Tea Party movement.

The fact that Giffords is a Democrat and that the shooter, 22 year-old Jared Lee Loughner, is a white gun owner assures that they will continue to do so in spite of ample evidence to the contrary.

To be fair, Loughner's YouTube and MySpace pages show someone who is pretty seriously deranged. His favorite books, however, include none that might be construed as Tea Party favorites with the possible exception of Ayn Rand's We The Living.

The book also includes some gentle liberal favorites like To Kill A Mockingbird, hippie cult hits like Siddartha and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and that ultimate left wing classic, the Communist Manifesto.

Loughner has also produced a confused, type-only video for YouTube. In it, he attempts to acquaint the viewer with an unexplained phenomenon called "conscience dreaming." Through this process he hopes to promote literacy and introduce a "new currency" to "literate dreamers." It does not go any deeper than that.

In the next few days, the best strategy is to ignore the media noise and pray for those victims like Gifffords will survive and and for those several victims who will not.

Good advice. I spent the evening on twitter. Lord have mercy. These people are so twisted in their thinking. I don't understand this need to excuse the shooter by saying he was forced or goaded into it by someone else. The things they are saying, blaming public figures, it's just sick.

Where does this idea come from that we should all just be really quiet so as not to piss off the mass murderers? And God forbid there should be a picture of a Marine in combat gear used during a campaign. Everyone knows that pictures of guns incite violence. What?? This is actually being debated??

I'm so grieved for Sarah and Glenn, and Jesse Kelly, to have such horrible things being said. Geraldo is the worst. Keith Ablow was the only one who said this is not a political story. The guy is mentally ill. I think you're right, gonna just stay away from news/social media for a week. For my own mental health.

We might take advantage of this opportunity to get Gerry Rivers FIRED!

His behavior during this horrible situation has been unconscionable. Roger Ailes should show him the door.

If he wants to include Sissy Shep Smith, that would be OK too.

The shamelessly media trying to establish a link between the violence and the Tea Party movement.
The media will try to cover up the fact he’s a stoner.

All of a sudden we’re hearing about death threats and harassing phone calls to Democrat pols.

I suspect most of that is as phony as the supposed spitting and racial epithet incident in front of the Capitol last year (which Pelosi and the CBC tried to provoke).

Yes, it’s really being debated. Talked about, anyway.

What we need to remember is that those people only constitute 20% of American society at most. But it is a very LOUD 20% minority which thinks it can bellow its way into getting whatever it wants at the expense of the majority.

It is, after all, such a morally and intellectually superior minority. /s

This is a full frontal psyop by the marxist members of the communist "Progressive Congressional Caucus" and their comrades in the press against the GOP to portray them and their constituency as homicidal maniacs.

Get it?

Psychological war, an attack by the enemy within against the right and the capitalist system that makes the assault by the leftist psycho yesterday pale in comparison in terms of the potential damage that will be done if the psyop operation by theses red sons of bitches succeeds.

I say its time to double down on the fight against the marxists and not give one inch of ground.

That means instead of ignoring the press, starting today, getting in the faces and calling for the firing of any reporter that slanders anyone on the right, and attack them back twice as hard and with no mercy,

THE LEFTISTS are the ones who incite violence, not the right.

A LEFTIST PSYCHO carried out this attack.

Rinse, wash, repeat.

Let’s start by letting Roger Ailes know what leftist bomb-throwers he is employing in Geraldo Rivera and Shep Smith:

roger.ailes@foxnews.com

The stuff they’ve been saying trying to link the Giffords shooting to the right is neither fair nor balanced, it is disgraceful.

Shep Smith, the violent femme that wears more makeup than than an 11th Avenue whore, and Geraldo, that charlatan whose entire career has been an extension of his Al Capones Vault debacle.

They need to be immediately suspended for slander.

They need to fire Rivera along with Schwepp, Colmes, and a couple of other lefties. There are really only three shows on Fox worth watching any more - Cavuto, Beck, and Red Eye. Oh, I catch the 6 PM news also on occasion.

Can’t handle Schewpp. No way. When he comes on, I turn the channel. Ever since he stood on that bridge whining outside of New Orleans after Katrina, I’ve had absolutely no use for him.

Of course he's deranged. Reports are that he's a Daily Kos liberal, incited just days ago by fellow travelers.

Even the title here is full of fecal matter...."more tea party violence"?! The only violence at tea parties was perpetrated by yet more leftists.

Sane, normal people will not accuse the innocent of this crime. I have done psychiatric nursing and I recognize that this young man is deranged beyond anything political. He is not living in the real world. There is a world of difference between derangement and plain old evil. Those accusing Sarah, Glen, or whomever of this crime have violent ulterior motives of their own, which, if allowed to stand will shoot our nation in the head. Glen, particularly, has warned against violence, for he knows the extreme fascist left will use anything or any kind of lie to destroy us. We are Americans. We do not kill one another because of differences of opinion. Only criminals do that and it is people, not guns, that kill. If the vicious left wing media insists on politicizing this tragedy to promote their agenda, it will not work, but will polarize us further. At some point, terrible things are bound to happen. I beg you, Media, stop the madness! Everyone else, pray for all those who were injured and killed in this massacre yesterday and for their families. This is a time to pull together to find reasonable and effective ways of keeping our freedom while protecting our lawmakers and all of us.

I say, keep those leftists ON Fox....its the only place they get confronted. And since I watch none of the rabids on MSNBC or main stream...I like to hear their spew in a place where they can be seen for what they are.

You're right -- a stoner-philosopher. There are a half-dozen of them in every high school in America.

From the article:
none that might be construed as Tea Party favorites with the possible exception of Ayn Rand's We The Living

What the article does not point out is that the seeming anomaly of Ayn Rand amidst these other favorites of this Dylan Klebold clone is not really an anomaly at all.

These stoner-philosophers, in an attempt to espouse some sort of philosophically-palatable form of anarchy, read Nietzche, Marx, Proudhon, Kropotkin, and above all, H.L. Mencken, thinking to add some sort of hip sophistication to what they are calling anarchy these days ("A" with a circle drawn around it). They tell the grown-ups "dude, anarchy isn't what you think it is". No, to them, it's very deep, very subtle, very workable (if only the rest of us were smart enough to listen).

Now, the fact that H.L. Mencken once called Rand's "We The Living" the most apt rendition of proper political philosophy ever written makes more sense.

This is a strange, esoteric little world some of these lost little misfits inhabit. They espouse a socialist, anarchist, quasi-libertarian mindset drawn from writers who had wildly distorted views of human nature. Almost all of them have trouble relating to the opposite sex.

How do I know this? Teaching high school for 30 years.

They first tried Racism. That did not work. Now they are trying Hate Speech. It won’t work either. Liberalism does not work and they will be unable to defend it by the old tricks.
