Hawaii's New Gov Set To Torpedo Birthers - L.A. Times Piles On
Here's The Right Side Of It ^ | December 26, 2010 | John L. Work

With thanks to Gates of Vienna

Hawaii’s leftist Governor-elect, Neil Abercrombie, says he is going to “torpedo” the birther conspiracy theories that question the Constitutional eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama to hold office. And by golly, he’s found a couple of willing partners in the major media to help him with the cover-up – The Los Angeles Times’ Michael Mimoli and Ken Dilanian. Their distortion-filled coverage of Abercrombie’s noble quest to keep the Big Question unanswered was published on Christmas Eve:

http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-obama-birthers-20101224,0,3744847.story

“Reporting from Honolulu —

Neil Abercrombie knew Barack Obama’s parents when the future president was born here in 1961, and he has been aggravated by the so-called birther movement, which alleges Obama was not born in the United States and thus should be expelled from office…”

The so-called birther movement does not say that Obama was or was not born within the United States. It points to the secrecy and non-disclosure of all of his documented history that could answer the nagging question as to his origins. The birthers want him to release that history for public inspection, as John McCain did during 2008. Obama has released nothing – except for an on-line computer-generated image that would not even get your kid into Little League Baseball.

“…What bothers me is that some people who should know better are trying to use this for political reasons,” said Abercrombie, 72. “Maybe I’m the only one in the country that could look you right in the eye right now and tell you, ‘I was here when that baby was born.’ “…”

Really, Mr. Abercrombie? The Constitution is not political? Obama’s paternal step-grandmother says he was born in Mombassa, Kenya, and that she was right there in the delivery room. Does that prove where he was born? No. And neither does what Neil Abercrombie says about it. There’s only one way for this to be resolved – let’s see the original long-form birth certificate. And while we’re at it, how about all of those school records, college transcripts, Columbia senior thesis, financial aid applications, college transfer records, adoption records, name-change records, passport records, selective service records, Harvard Law Review records – all of it. This is supposed to be Mr. Transparency, after all.

“…One of Abercrombie’s aides said the governor is voicing the frustration of many Hawaiians who continue to be troubled by the rumors, which they see as emblematic of the view that Hawaiians are not Americans in the same way as those who live in the continental United States…”

Now, that is clever. We on the mainland must consider Hawaiians to be less than Americans because we’d like to see the President’s bona-fides. That’s a good one. But, here comes the biggest lie in the story:

“…Ample evidence has been produced to discredit the “birther” movement, so in the view of the White House, the Democratic governor’s comments are reviving an issue that most people see as resolved…”

Nothing has been resolved. The only evidence that has been brought forth from the White House is derision, name-calling, ridicule – and belittling them who would like a straightforward answer to the quite rational question: If Mr. Obama is Constitutionally eligible to serve as President, please release his entire documented history, so that we can see all of it. What is he hiding from us?

The fraud and forgery are there. Investigation? Who would want to investigate - Holder and Justice Department? ...OK bad guess...Hawaii? After all its their states document that is being faked...of course not, Democrats? OK another bad choice, Republicans at a national level? Well, when this grenade goes off plenty of shrapnel will fly their way. Besides - being the minority in both houses - THEY HAVE NOT HAD THE POWER OF SUBPOENA TO EVEN THINK ABOUT AN INVESTIGATION - but you know that. So who benefits and who would trigger a formal investigation? We know the answer - no one.

But still the evidence of fraud and forgery are prevalent in the material produced by Henig and Miller. They know that - granting no interviews on the subject in 2 and 1/2 years. For being modern day Woodward and Bernstein’s they are awfully shy. Oh, I almost forgot, Miller is busy at his government job since being the only known person in the world to hold the vaunted COLB.

The supposed time stamp problem was not the only problem with the digital data from the original posted photos. Stay tuned....

You are excellent at making excuses for failure.

The answer to your question is that any conservative state Attorney General in a solidly red state where Obama’s name appeared on the ballot could launch a grand jury investigation.

And for the record, factcheck.org is not the only fact checking organization to investigate the Obama COLB:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2008/jun/27/obamas-birth-certificate-part-ii/

Since the former Republican Governor of Hawaii, the Republican Attorney General of Hawaii and appointees of the Republican Governor: the Director of Health and the Registrar of Vital Statistics have all confirmed Obama’s birth in Honolulu at 7:24 pm on Friday, August 4, 1961 and two contemporaneous birth notices for him appeared the following Sunday and Monday in the Honolulu Star-Bulliten and the Honolulu Advertiser newspapers, there haven’t been any prosecutors or judges willing to go out on a limb up against those verifications.

“I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, Director of the Hawaii State Health Department have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying that Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen.”—July 28, 2009

“And so I had my health director, who is a physician by background, go and personally view the birth certificate in the birth records of the Department of Health, and we issued a news release at that time stating that the President was, in fact, born at Kapiolani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that’s just a fact.”
“It’s been established. He was born here.”—Governor Linda Lingle, May 2, 2010

Governor Lingle lied. OK, lets say mis-stated the facts.

Now, for review.
The October 2008 statement says - nothing. Its a worthless statement that says - “we have records on file”. It, contrary to the MSM stories and faither claims, does not say really ANYTHING. At least it breaks no policy or rules at the DOH since it discloses no information.

The July 2009 statement from Fukino has some meat and makes some claims. It is carefully parsed and is careful not to incriminate Fukino since the claims she makes are based on information IN THE RECORDS. But she does violate policy in making this apparently completely unsolicited statement - unless she was given permission by the Obama to make the statement. Oh, and she says he is a natural born American citizen - what ever that is. It is not a defined term in the US Constitution and hence - MEANINGLESS. But the lapdogs ran with it. Good for them. Good dogs.

In fact - you and everyone should familiarize yourself with this document.

Can you give me a rationale for why a Republican Governor who campaigned for John McCain and delivered one of Sarah Palin’s endorsement speeches at the Republican National Convention would put her political career on the line to lie for a liberal Democrat? Governor Lingle wants to be the next Republican Senator from Hawaii, taking the place of either aging Senator Akaka or the even more ancient Senator Inouye.
When Dr. Fukino made her first statement, it was in response to birther claims that Governor Lingle had ordered Obama’s birth records to be sealed. That is what was being addressed.
The July, 2009 statement was the definitive response of the state of Hawaii that Barack Obama’s records are in order and show him to be a “natural born American citizen.”

A natural born AMERICAN citizen is a person born within the territorial borders of the United States, as opposed to a naturalized American citizen born in Kenya, Indonesia, or Canada, as various birther rumors have opined.

There have now been 87 adjudicated civil suits challenging Obama’s eligibility, including nine applications and petitions at the Supreme Court of the United States. None of them has gone anywhere.
A birther attorney was sanctioned to the tune of 20 grand for wasting a US District Court’s time with nonsense. The judge in that lawsuit wrote: “A spurious claim questioning the President constitutional legitimacy may be protected by the First Amendment. But a Court’s placement of its imprimatur upon a claim that is so lacking in factual support that it is frivolous would undoubtedly disserve the public interest.”—That judge, Clay R. Land was a George W. Bush appointee. Another birther attorney was assessed court costs and asked to show cause why he shouldn’t be sanctioned for filing a frivolous lawsuit. And the Chief Judge of the US District Court for the District of Columbia, a Reagan appointee, said this about a birther attorney: “This is one of several such suits filed by Ms. Taitz in her quixotic attempt to prove that President Obama is not a natural-born citizen as is required by the Constitution. This Court is not willing to go tilting at windmills with her.”
