I respectfully disagree. While I believe in the importance of respecting the chain of command and obeying orders, we dont train officers to be automatons who blindly follow whatever order they are given. LTC Lakin chose to stand on his principles and disobey an order he believed was unlawful. The judgment of the Court Martial was otherwise, but I dont think Lakin was motivated by cowardice or some kind of political grandstanding. He made a decision as a man that cost him his career as an Army officer. Its a tragedy. Its also a tragedy that Barry Hussein Obamdinejad continues to make a mockery of the office he holds by doing everything he can to weaken and undermine this great country.

Flawed principles, and incorrect beliefs. He now finds out those mistakes come with a very high price.

I think he should have done his duty as an officer and a doctor and gone there, provided the medical aid he wqas trained and commissioned for, and then, after returning to the states, he could have disobeyed his orders. I think what he did was not right because it deprived our men of an experienced combat surgeon. I think he should have taken care of the men first, then challenged his orders. The men come first.
