A Trojan Horse Pork Bill Passes the House
American Thinker ^ | December 10, 2010 | K.E. Campbell

Washington is ignoring the mandate of voters, and sneaking through pork, as the media avert their eyes.

On Wednesday, the still-Democrat-controlled House approved a $1.1 trillion spending bill to fund the government through September 30, 2011, or until the new Congress can produce a budget. According to The Hill, this Continuing Resolution was needed "because Congress failed to pass any of the 12 regular appropriations bills for 2011, in addition to failing to pass a budget resolution at all for the first time since 1974." The federal budget is supposed to be finished by October 1, the start of the government's fiscal year, otherwise "continuing resolutions" are required to keep government running.

The Resolution that passed included, among many other things, passage of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, which the Senate had passed last month but was returned to the House due to an overlooked Constitutional requirement.

Ear Marks. Pork Barrel spending. And the Repubs are going along with this stuff to a degree. But Bohner and others promised it would come to a halt once the new HR Congress comes into play next year. We shall see if we have been had yet once again.

It is the usual suspects playing the same game they have played for years and the GOP goes along like bumbling fools thinking that if they play nice with the Rats, the Rats will do the same when the GOP is in power.

They are as stupid as Charlie Brown trying to kick the football Lucy is holding. If Charlie Brown (and the GOP) wasn’t such a chump, he would run as hard as he could toward the ball and at the last second, kick the living crap out of Lucy and TAKE the ball.

Not at all. The GOP gets its fair share of the pork.

Hooah! It's going to take a lot of pi**ed off vets, like LTC West, to drain the swamp once and for all. As he said in one of his campaign speeches, veterans, your oath of enlistment has no statute of limitations. You're still under oath!

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
