You can make the most of even the smallest pieces of leftover meat on your holiday turkey. I simmer the bones to get the rich flavor, then easily remove any meat that remains. I add rice, vegetables and cream soup for a hearty soup that's tasty and economical
The best way to have turkey leftovers IMO - hot sandwich first and next day cold with mayo and cranberry sauce. Then turkey/noodle soup by the end of the week. All gone now!!
Turkey Pilaf... rice, browned until golden in lots of butter, a chopped onion, turkey stock, water chestnuts, curry, thyme, parsley. Yum.
When you make your turkey stock, use a pasta pot and put the bones in the strainer. When all the goodness has simmered out you lift the inner pot and all the straining of bones and bits is done!
Oil? OIL? ... Lard, man, Lard, roll them in LARD!
What ya don’t eat, you can roll in fire place ashes and use as a bath scrum.
Sorry. I don't think I'm such a picky eater but I just don't like gravy glop on anything and I especially don't like wet bread.
And don't get me started on turkey soup.
I have to think there are others who feel the same way.
But I really like turkey with plenty of cranberry.
