Yeah, I bought "Threads" on DVD after reading about it 2 months ago.
I like the British sense of hopeless doom. Makes it obvious how we won the War of Independence.
Frankly, I'm surprised the Brits didn't just mass suicide.
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Hey, we didn’t quit in 1940 I’ll have you know... That said, Britain is a small island, so nuclear war would pretty much wipe us out with all those nukes going off in cities only a few score miles apart. America outside the major cities might fair better though, with many towns being stuck in the middle of nowhere hundreds of miles away from anywhere significant. Britain’s sense of doom in the case of a nuclear holocaust is perfectly justified. Mass suicide would probably be the superior alternative to waiting to die of radiation sickness (or cannibal mutants)....

There has been scattered but persistent speculation on the topic since 2006, when fragmentary reports surfaced that North Korea might have sold Iran missiles based on a Russian design called the R-27, once used aboard Soviet submarines to carry nuclear warheads In the unclassified world, many arms control experts concluded that isolated components made their way to Iran, but there has been little support for the idea that complete missiles, with their huge thrusters, had been secretly shipped. Hmmm. Does this shed any light on the "contrail / missile" off of the California coast ?
Lead-lined tinfoil hat adjusted.
Cheers!
