Motifs of the American flag have become a regular addition to Google's artistic repertoire celebrating patriotic holidays but today's Veterans Day doodle has sparked a measure of controversy.
In the past Google personified its doodle with red, white and blue letters but the addition of an Islamic crescent moon-looking "e" has all the Internet abuzz.
Tweets via Twitter have included a broad range of hostile opinions about 'Old Glory' appearing with the shadow of a stylized Islamic crescent moon--especially on Veterans Day. The Google doodle is definitely stirring up fears of fanning the flames of anti-Islamic sentiments in America. Was that what Google intended?
Reactions on Twitter have ranged from shock to disappointment at Google's choice of doodle designs for Veterans Day.
LaughTech on Twitter enlarged the logo and set its caption as "Google says, 'Happy Veterans Day, Islam'".
AdrianTweeting makes a similar observation: "The Veterans Day Google logo kind of makes the "e" on the end look like a sinister Islamic crescent lurking behind the flag. Unfortunate.

More needless distraction.
This is just getting silly.
Let’s say they did it on purpose. Who cares? Use some other search engine, it won’t hurt you.

All I see is the bottom of the last E. Some people have too much time on their hands.

Red, white, and blue would have been a better design today. Thank you to all of our veterans.

Bah. I say, if these people want to go after Google or any other idiot leftist organization, more power to them. I don't even care if the crescent thing was just an accident. What we need in this country is a reverse political correctness, where the lefties are scared to express their leftist views because of the smackdown they might receive, rather than Americans being scared to express patriotism and common sense. Besides, most of the people freaking out about this are not the type to be out handling the bigger issues, anyway. If they weren't freaking out about the crescent, they'd be sitting on their rear ends watching TV. Let them kick Google's ass. Let the momentum build. Go, patriots, go.

Some people have too much time on their hands. No kidding. Maybe some of the "perpetually offended" attitude has rubbed off on them.

Perhaps there are those who do not realize that the word Google ends with the letter “e.”

Is this the flag of an Islamic state?

It has been widely documented that the founders of Google have a long running, deep seated hatred for our country. Aren’t they foreigners? At least one of them is a damn dirty furriner that I know of. I think the other one is a secular jew who has turned his back on his faith, and thus has no moral anchor.

It's the bottom curve of the "
e"!
For Pete's sake, some people just need an excuse to bitch about something.
