Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Thursday she objected to a photo of Rep. Michelle Bachmann in the publication Politico by suggesting its use was sexist.
The photo, used to accompany a story about GOP leadership drama, showed Bachmann having make-up applied. The accompanying article detailed how Bachmanns run for Republican Conference Chair against Rep. Jeb Hensarling is a speed bump in an otherwise smooth transition process into the House majority for the GOP.
A photo of Rep Bachmann in a Leadership article [with] the title including a drama angle showing her being made up with cosmetics?! Palin said in an e-mail to The Daily Caller.
Would they do this to a male candidate? Kinda like the Newsweek cover of me in running shorts. Kinda like all these recent articles that mention what Im wearing or not wearing, yet not one mention of anyone elses garb in the same article. It gets old, its boringly transparent, its beyond subtle, Palin said.
Politico changed out the photo for another of Bachmann later in the morning. We agreed it wasnt the best choice of photos, so we changed it, said Politico executive editor Jim VandeHei.

I did think before I posted. I was rational. You should try it.
One of those images was a cell phone capture that went on the internet, not into a serious article like this one as she is vying for House leadership.
We conservatives are hoping to see her gain more leadership power. I think that the photo in post 37 is more appropriate.
Give it a rest or better yet, give it up.
Sarah Palin is too big for him. She owns the news with as little as two words: CORRUPT BASTARDS - DEATH PANELS.
You can't have it both ways. He owes her, big time, according to you.
I won’t have the likes of you tell me I agree with the left. I see no bias in that picture. Michelle was getting ready for an appearance.
Remember tht pic of Huck in the barber chair? He enjoyed it.
This is a whole lot of nothing. I bet you had no problem making fun of Hillary’s cankles and pantsuits. How about her messy hair?
Is the stuff we say about Michelle Obama sexist too?
I am sick of fretting over silly stuff when we have serious problems out there.
Sorry, but you were agreeing with the left, it looks like the left leaning site changed the photo after conservatives complained though.
You are full of it. Its pretty funny that Bachmann isn’t the one complaining.
Either picture was fine. This is far from being the worst thing Michelle has had to deal with. She takes it like a trooper, still manages to win and even has the guts to appear on the worst lefty new channels and hold her own.
All in all, you can’t beat that.
That is so funny!!! Great one!
It would not have been the best thing for her to have had to complain about it herself, but conservatives took care of it.
Did she ask you to?
I was looking forward to you answering post 48, you did not seem to remember that we used that cell phone capture against Edwards, just as you did not catch how conservatives could have been offended by the use of that original Bachmann photo, in a story about conservative leadership involving a female conservative.
Of course the pic in post #37 is more appropriate, and of course Politico chose a less appropriate Bachmann picture.
But it will be on one ear and out the other for some if you say that.
I’d enjoy a pic of Michelle kicking Chris Matthews in the nuts a great deal more.
Well he wasn't called the Break Girl for nothing.
Bachmann is as Dennis Miller says “one hot PILF”
I’m probably not the only one here that has no idea what that means.
This shows that the left is getting skeered of Sarah Palin.
And that’s a Very Good Thing.
Zactly. Sarah Palin will continue to call out and call down the lamestream for all of their sexist comments and sneaky photos women politicians and GOOD on her! She’s been their national target for over two years.
Just shows you, don’t it...Sarah speaks and the world listens.
