Pity is the most repulsive expression of emotion, worse than hate. It damages the purveyor vastly more than the recipient.

You don’t agree that is a sad and sorry state of affairs? Usually pity is accompanied by prayer, at least with me. I don’t think it is the least bit damaging as it keeps me in touch with reality and praying that reality will improve. It is what moves me to charity and prayer. How can that be bad?
