You don’t agree that is a sad and sorry state of affairs? Usually pity is accompanied by prayer, at least with me. I don’t think it is the least bit damaging as it keeps me in touch with reality and praying that reality will improve. It is what moves me to charity and prayer. How can that be bad?
I would prefer to be loved or hated.
Pity is something for small animals that need to be put down.
