Apparently so, via Kyle Hopkins at the Anchorage Daily News:
I'm sitting at the Division of Elections office here in Midtown, where more than a dozen people have filed this afternoon to run as write-in candidates for U.S. Senate.
KFQD 750 AM radio host Dan Fagan, a backer of Republican nominee Joe Miller, has been urging voters to sign up in an act of "civil disobedience" -- defying what he calls the courts' illegal decision to allow a list of write-in candidates at polling places.
The ruling is expected to aid Sen. Lisa Murkowski's write-in bid. The idea of the mass registration is to create a long list of potential write-in choices and make it harder for voters to find Murkowski's name.
The deadline for registering as a write-in candidate is the close of business today.
"I'm signing up to become a senator," a man in a hoodie said into his cell phone. An Anchorage woman who said she was upset with the court ruling wheeled in her oxygen tank, asking if she could sign up to run for both federal and state office.
More soon.
UPDATE: Make that about two dozen people.
I'm not sure about the Dan Fagan connection. I thought this was Dan Riehl's idea. But as Reagan once said, there's no limit to what can be accomplished if you don't care who gets the credit. If there are any more readers in Alaska, get down to the Division of Elections and join the party.
Update: Hopkins has updated his article to include the following information:
The Anchorage office received 56 Senate write-in applications -- in person or by fax -- in just 45 minutes, said election clerk Raymond McAndrews at 5 p.m.
Question for our Alaska readers: Are there Division of Elections offices other than the one in Anchorage? If so, how many more write-in applications have been received on top of the 56 in Anchorage?
Usually it’s customary to wait until after the election to deploy the winged monkeys, but MooKowSky started early. I can just about guarantee that unless she wins outright, she’ll tie up the election in the courts for as long as she possibly can. The groups lining up to strumpeteer for her makes me less than proud to be an Alaskan and if she does win, it proves that we really aren’t a conservative state, we’ll clamp on that government teat and swing until it runs dry.
If she wins, I’m seriously considering getting out of here.
Like dang and oh fudge?
Pretty hard core stuff.......
Delicious. Ms. Lisa PayNoAttentionToPrimary Mookowski is getting her comeuppance. The perfect end to her pol. life would be to have Miller trounce her on Tuesday.
And yet, more qualified than Lisa.
LMMFAO!
“Nancy Nonspeakerofhousekey”
Lol! From your keyboard to God’s ear!
May God give each of us the strength we will need to see this through.
Tatt
I think that this is a bad move. Folks did not like Joe using thugs to hand cuff a reported and this write in joke again makes him look like a bully. Joe dropped in the pole after the hand cuff thing and now in 3 days since the release of his file he has gone from first to worst. This will not help him. tk
OR AS MANY SPELLINGS OF SUCH AS POSSIBLE. ANY MISPELLINGS WOULD BE HARDER TO AWARD TO THE RINO LISA IF THERE ARE OTHERS WITH SIMILAR NAMES.
It’s not the people, its the mobocracy that’s been created by all this 8A Federal Largess. They have money, and power but they’re the minority. Someday the sun will shine on these Native Corps, the no-show jobs, the kick-backs etc.... Hell, most of the Natives who are “share-holders” don’t get crap while the connected get rich off of the D.C. money train. These Mobsters know Lisa keeps the money train running and Joe derails it. After he’s elected is when the war begins in earnest.
Yeah, Joe made some major blunders. But Murkowski, the Parnell Administration and the Native Corps are conspiring to break election law in order to essentially place her name on the ballot! This isn’t about Joe, this is about what’s Right and Moral!
Put down the crack pipe. You want bullies, look up the judges who BROKE THE LAW not once but twice by making his employment records public and by allowing the use of write in ballots in polling places. GET A CLUE, please.
Oh yeah. LOL.
You’re a Lisa troll.
tongass kid has been posting in favor of Murky before the primaries, so let’s cut to the chase.
Stop trying to trash Joe Miller, tongass kid!
You’re a Lisa troll.
I just saw this:
“Murkowskis husband, Verne Martell, had the idea of rubber Livestrong-type bracelets with Murkowskis name, which voters can wear to vote without violating state electioneering laws. The campaign ordered 50,000 of the blue-and-gold bracelets.”

Gotta get those picked up by Miller voters.
I have a feeling the court will change course and ban the write-in list.
IIRC, legal briefs were due in at the court today.
RED ALERT.
(Unless FR wants to stand for that kinda' stuff).
