Evalynn closed the electronic data unit and looked at the six eyes looking back at her intently.
“What happened then, mom?”
She smiled, they were always curious about everything.
“That’s a story for tomorrow night. Get some sleep.”
A chorus of “Moooom!” and “Oh maaan!” sounded from the three children.
“Is it true you were a robotic spider?” asked the youngest child, her eyes wide in shock.
She chuckled at her daughter, then answered.
“Do you remember the blue spider in the museum?”
They all nodded.
“Once a long time ago, I was that spider.” she kneeled down to their eye level and marveled at their intent attention to her words.
“And then daddy kissed you and made you a princess like the story of the Frog Prince?”
Evalynn tilted her head and thought about it, in a way that was what one could say.
She’d come far since those days, she was no longer the pure machine mind she’d been all those years ago.
For one, she had three children.
“Something like that.” came a voice from behind her, announcing the other difference in her existence.
“I’ll tell you a scary story about how mommy was the master of a group of zombies someday.” Sigma teased the children as he hugged his wife close.
From here, the future looked mighty bright.
Sounds like you were dipping into the Treats...
Awwww, a happy!
“Is it true you were a robotic spider?” sounds much more interesting than, “Is it true you were a typist?”
Cool, but the story just won't "have it all" unless one of her sons is named Boris.
